Linkin Park or Incubus

If Sum 41 goes under this genre i would vote for them. they got quite a few good songs.

if you count the pain for pleasure video, they have one good song.

Linkin Park is a contrived band that put out an incredibly popular best selling album, recycled the songs for their second album which dissapointed sales, now have released a new album that seems to pick up alot from the 'emo' crap that is popular now.

Incubus broke a few barriers and was like 2 or 3 years ahead of its time with 1997's S.C.I.E.N.C.E, which is a personal pick for one of the greatest albums of the late 90's, made a generic album which sold well in Make Yourself, then tried its hardest to come original each record (though in my opinion each record they release is not as good as the last).

Overall I say Incubus, simply because they released S.C.I.E.N.C.E and have multiple references to magic mushrooms in their early work.

Also it should be noted both bands have a DJ. However, DJ Lyfe was an amazing presence on SCIENCE, owing much to that record's sound. DJ Kilmore (incubus dj from make yourself to present) is pretty much a gimmick.

As for linkin park's DJ, he's decent i guess.

Also, Linkin Park's first two cd's rely heavily on the two easiest aspects of electric guitar: Power Chords and Natural Harmonics. Incubus seems to have more musician's skill than that. Not that they didn't follow that route: Make Yourself is full of that crap. But they have a 'been there done that' at ude which keeps them fresh to their fanbase.
