Dell had this laptop on discount last week:

1.73 Ghz Pentium Dual Core 2
1 GB 667 mhz DDR2 Ram
160 GB HDD @ 5400 rpm
256 mb Geforce Go 7300
15" widescreen

$600. Go ahead. Price a mac laptop with those specs.

Though I will say if you're using IE, DITCH it. Firefox is far superior.

Firefox isn't any less of a piece of than IE, and it's compatible with fewer websites.

the new dual cores are alittle more but if you do not buy a new dual core laptop windows they are about the same

Just keep tellin yourself that pal. IE is compatible with more websites because it allows ActiveX access by default. That's basically the difference in compatibility.

I understand that. I don't have to refresh the page anywhere else on the web on any of my machines. I could tell him to upgrade his browser, because I know he's running IE6 and Mysa has a piece of code that's not 100 percent backwards compatible, but there's no point in doing that when just telling him to hit F5 is easier than having upgrade or to come on here asking someone to post the text for him.

No thanks. I like my ty Dell laptop that can play Fear at 65 fps @ 1440 x 990 and run Counterstrike in native 1920x1200 resolution on high detail, and still gets 3+ hours of battery life on a single 9-cell battery. With a dual boot par ion to Ubuntu, yeah, I'm pining for a Mac, let me tell you.

Ha ya~ I wonder if some of the folks here have mistakenly equated adulthood, masculinity or maturity with taunts or insults. Or is this an expression of a defence mechanism that considers a preemptive verbal offence as the best way to protect one's fragile ego?

Whatever the case, practise some kind of self-control mates. Don't perpetuate things that make life miserable for yourself and everyone else.
