    PG: Isiah Thomas
    SG: Guess...
    SF: Larry Bird
    PF: TD
    C: Shaq circa. 1999

This is a really stupid question. The variance in selection is going to be minimal.

    looked at them.

he isn't even close to stockton in longevity.

    19/9 career average
13/10 career average while averaging close to half the shots (per season)

    stockton > thomas

hmm, so longevity beats out Championships...and fewer points beats out more points...interesting.

I think the two Championships has got to count for something too, but then again, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Championships aren't all that.

Two time MVP Nash not even a candidate for these teams.

I think Kobe deserves a spot on an all-time team. Maybe not yet, but by his career is over definitely.

Nope. First, because if he hadn't been lucky enough to play with Shaq, he'd have no rings. Second, he hasn't shown that he's able to make his team-mates better on a consistent basis.

I don't want him on my all-time team.

    LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not only do you start Karl Malone over Tim Duncan, you don't even put Duncan as the back-up???? A player that only played "center" in Moses Malone a better option as a back-up power forward over the best PF in the history of the league?

Stockton over Magic is also very amusing.

I chose Stockton as backup PG over Isaiah because Stockton doesn't need shots and finding enough shots to go around on these teams could be a problem.

Remember the "Jordan Rules"? Isaiah would disrupt this team's chemistry. How are Jordan and Thomas going to co-exist if they're both on the court? You've got to consider these things.

Jordan kept Isaiah off the original Dream Team.

Nash does exactly what a PG needs to be able to do. Shoot, and pass. he is one of the best passers the game has ever seen, and is also one of the best shooters the game has ever seen. he is incredibly clutch, and is arguably the best offensive PG of all time. not many PGs can shoot, penetrate, finish, pass, etc... the way Nash can. he may be a defensive liability, but with Jordan, Bird, Duncan, and Shaq, that wont be a problem at all.

Nash would be a PERFECT fit for a guy like Jordan too. I dont think there could be a better fit at PG for Jordan than Steve Nash.

Dr. J was awesome, but not many players had the clutch ability, work ethic, and most importantly, the will to win that Larry Bird had.

rick barry sharing the same thought: think he said somethin' like: "he's the best PF in the history of basketball, if you would look at an all-time starting 5, Duncan would take the PF spot for sure"

You should count the ABA and that means Erving has to be there and Rick barry was great too. Both averaged over 30 a game there.

big bonus for thomas winning two rings, stockton failed at that aspect. I just think that overall, between these guys, stockton was the better player.

stockton shot over 50% for his career, that is sick for a point guard. His game was nothing like parker's, he didn't spend much time in the paint.

It was unforunate he had to play with one of the biggest chockers of all time. Give him Barkley or Mchale and he wins at least once.

Over 50% from the field in his regular season career. Look at his playoff FG is under 50%, at 47%. Isiah Thomas' playoff FG% is not far behind at 44%. And, Isiah even shot better from 3PT range than Stockton when it was the playoffs. Stockton's shooting numbers went down in the playoffs. Isiah Thomas' shooting numbers went up in the playoffs. Just shows you when they played against better defense and the pressure was on, what kind of player each was. Isiah Thomas had another level he went to in the playoffs.

Stockton was not a better player than Isiah Thomas. He played longer. He didn't like to shoot so he passed it all the time, so he has better assist numbers. Isiah was a better player.
