we're so tired of the drama from the last series that we'll continue to post lame articles about it much after the fact.

    ---spursfan
Our team sucks ass and has a "star player" that does a better job of getting into jail than leading his team, not to mention that we failed to make the playoffs, so lets start up pointless just to pass the time.

There was an ad running during the regular season on Phoenix stations. It was a real estate agent showing a guy dressed as the le around the city. The guy says, "I like it here. I think I'll stay awhile," followed by a narrator: "The Larry O'Brien Trophy is coming to Phoenix. Reserve your playoff tickets now!"

I guess they could still use that ad if the O'Brien goes on a Stanley Cup-esque tour

The entire country doesn't know whats exciting?
Actually, you're right. Most of the country doesn't know how exciting it is to see their team dominate the league and win a slew of Championships. It's not our fault the rest of the country isn't lucky enough to live in SA.

The Spurs are so boring their own fans don't even watch.

And we all have the numbers to prove it.
Hey da, I know you're trying to ruffle us Spurs fans feathers by playing the "boring" card, but do you honestly think the NBA should ins ute the "popular vote" in the league? Are you saying the league should basically say "The with the other teams regardless of their record" just to have the two most exciting teams playing for the le? That's some goofy ass !!!

You've been watching too much American Idol!

Excitement drained out of NBA playoffs

(May 21, 2007) — The rest of the NBA playoffs aren't likely to set any positive TV ratings records.

When your league is playing basketball in June, the Finals matchup had better be dazzling.

The Detroit Pistons vs. the San Antonio Spurs won't be.

The two most entertaining teams in the eyes of most NBA fans — the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns — have been eliminated. At least the Mavs lost fair and square to Golden State. The Spurs might not have needed a big assist from the NBA office to beat the Suns, but they definitely got one and we'll never know what would've happened had both teams been at full strength for their series-turning Game 5.

But before we get a rematch of the 2005 Finals (San Antonio over Detroit in seven games), we have to survive a pair of mismatches in the conference finals.

San Antonio in five games over Utah.

Detroit in six games over Cleveland.

Utah's best player is Carlos Boozer, probably the most underrated power forward in the NBA. San Antonio's Tim Duncan probably is the NBA's all-time best power forward and he has a much better and more experienced supporting cast.

The Spurs on Sunday in Game 1 of their series won 108-100 (it wasn't that close) at home over the Jazz for the 17th straight time. That streak isn't likely to end before next season.

Cleveland vs. New Jersey might have been the most difficult playoff series to watch since the shot-clock was introduced. Slow-paced, low-scoring and boring — partly because the defense was decent but mostly because the offenses were horrible. The big difference was LeBron James playing well for the Cavaliers and Vince Carter predictably playing poorly for the Nets.

Cousins Carter and Tracy McGrady were teammates in Toronto for two seasons and some people have wondered how the Raptors would've fared had they both stayed. Judging by their disappointing playoff histories, probably not exceedingly well.

Detroit has too much big-play experience and plays too much defense to lose a playoff series to Cleveland. James' brilliance should help the Cavaliers win once or twice but it isn't going to happen four times.
Here we go again, the reason the suns of es lost the series is because they lost GAME ONE WITH A COMPLETE ROSTER AND HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE. That is the reason they lost and how in the did they let that happen? There was NO margin for error from the suns and sure thing, they ran off the bench like idiots and got themselves suspended breaking a rule that has been in effect for quite some time.
For being such a deeply talented team, why in the did they not win game one? any whiny suns of es fans care to answer why they lost game one?

Priestess, and let me add how Nash hard fouled Tony in Game 1 with a head butt as Tony was about to drive the rack. Ironically it was Nash who paid the price with the gash on his nose, bless his heart. And the Suns' lack of head skillz (Amare and Boris) cost them the suspensions, but one can also argue that Nash's spread eagle flopping skills after Horry's foul started it all.

Basically, the Spurs eliminated the Suns for the third time in five years. That's harsh.

not a suns fan but i think they are likely to blame nash's bleeding nose for that loss and its a stupid rule becuz apparently nash was gonna drain back to back 3's and win the game for them while bleeding profusely from his nose ..now thats the rule that needs to be amended, alongside the bench players being suspended for getting on the court during altercations...suns fans always got excuses, even nash does

thats the problem, they are shifting the blame. For all the hype of how "talented" the suns are, they should have won that game. After that loss, there could not be any, none, zero room for error and they screwed up.

I see your point about nash draining the threes but it was too late, the lead had already been built up, the suns gave the spurs the opportunity to win the game and they did. It did not happen in the last minutes either. It was a solid win by the Spurs with all the starters from the suns playing in the game till pendejo nash reached in gashed his nose.

    Really?

    Kidd: 18.7 PPG, 8.9 APG, 6.3 RPG, 2.2 SPG, 41.4 FG%
    Nash: 18.6 PPG, 11.6 APG, 3.5 RPG, 0.8 SPG, 53.2 FG%

Kidd has the edge in a few, Nash has the edge in few. I wouldn't call it laughable.
Can we do some genetic engineering or something and get this years Nash Offensive states with that Kidd's rebounding and defense?

    That'd be fun.

One of the SportsCenter items tonight was "Who will watch if Lebron is not in the playoffs?" (or something similar) And while this was not one of them, the same one suggests the feeling among SportsCenter elites, Michael Wilbon, Tony Kornheiser, et al, "we may as well all go home, those F....ing Spurs have done it again and ruined our sports world. Can't they get it in their thick heads we don't want them to win any more championships? It isn't fair. We want Kobe, Lebron, Phoenix, Dallas, Waa, Waa, Waa."

Ahh, what great saisfaction! It's so touching, really. I laugh myself to sleep every night. All of them remind of whiny little children.

And especially Phoenix fans. They really have to get over it. Championship teams rise above adversity. They had their chances in games 5 and 6.

I give you the end result of fusing Steve Nash with Jason Kidd.

Truthfully, the only reason Kidd is not with the Suns still, is he and his ex had a fight and he allegedly hit her. So far it seems that the teams here don't put up with that. So they shipped him out. He is a great player, no doubt about it.
