Just want you to know that not all Suns fans are whiners. I am not. I take the hand that fate gives me and do the best I can with it. I also don't buy into any NBA conspiracy theories. It is just so highly improbable that there is any conspiracy for or against any team or style of play.

As for the Suns team, I just really like the personalities of Nash, Marion, Leandro, Amare, Boris, James Jones, and Raja. Nash is clearly the leader and this team rises and falls with him. I believe the Suns will see even more success in the future. An NBA championship for the Suns is possible but not highly likely... since there are so many events, within their control or not, which can trip a team up in pursuit of it.

I like the Suns' fast, well-balanced and creative offense. Their defense is greatly improved as well from 2 years ago. However, it is evident from the playoff series against the Spurs that they have much work to do in improving both their offense and defense. The Suns seemed one-dimensional and easily stunted by a great defense. Also, their defense relied more on individual talent and efforts rather than on collective, systematic effort.

The Spurs, on the other hand, had 3 independent, dangerous threads of offense. It was unpredictable, creative and explosive. And their defense functioned instinctively, collectively, as if coordinated by one brain.

If you are familiar with the Capability Maturity Model (CMM). One could say the Suns offense is CMM level 3 while its defense was CMM level 1. The Spurs team however, is CMM level 3 or even 4 in both its offense and defense.

I know Nash and D'Antoni saw all this and more... and they must be awe-struck by the work that still needs to be done if they are to have a chance to win next season.

so who is gone next year? amare or marion? it appears to me that marion is much more vital to your team, but amare is a lot cheaper and has a lot of upside. seems like tough decision to make, which only got tougher with the way the lottery worked for you.

That's an honest assessment. CMM eh? I guess that means that balance on BOTH sides of the court mean something. That is why I know that, whether or not he gets the support from the casual fan or the media that drives them, TIM DUNCAN IS THE BEST PLAYER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE COURT ON THE ENTIRE PLANET.

Actually, I don't know. Fortunately, the decision is not mine to make.

I was just thinking of what I saw in the lottery tonight. Those owners (or their reps) who won pump their fists and raise their arms like they won tens of millions of dollars because more than likely, that is what an Oden or Durant add to their bottom lines over time. It is literally a high-probability, exclusive, multi-millionaires' version of scratch and win.

You are probably right. But as you know, there is always a bigger fish... or one will come along sooner or later. I wonder if this year's draft includes the next best player on both sides of the court on the face of the earth.

Balance is very important. Versatility as well. Run and gun is a good capability but it should not be the only thing a team can do well. The Spurs have shown that it can play small ball with the very best should it need to or choose to. But on top of that, it can play well in other situations too.

you seem like a pretty good guy, and intelligent...and i'll go ahead and tell you that the pistons and suns were the only other teams i would root for other than the spurs. i really do like nash but the way you guys acted(players and fans) was absolutely the worst thing i've ever seen. if phoenix had more fans like you, the suns would get a lot more respect.
