Maybe. But I'm thinking 3-1 is more likely. Honestly though, you have to understand something. The feud with Dallas is a very recent struggle and left a bitter taste in our mouth last year. It's not so much that we feel Utah is inferior as that we just wanted to pound the out of Dallas.
I guess you'll just have to "settle" for another le instead. Poow wittle Spuuws.

This Jazz series could become the Sonics series of 2005. The first two games were pretty easy wins for the Spurs but those Sonics played at a different level when they were at home, especially their role players. If Okur and D-Fish start hitting buckets the Jazz will be tough to beat in Salt Lake. That said, the Spurs only need one up there and should they get it no doubt they close it out back in Sa.

Didn't the Spurs blowout the Pistons in Games 1 and 2 of the Finals? The Pistons came back and made a series out of it when they headed back home so maybe we shouldn't be writing off the Jazz just yet. I have a feeling the next two games are going to be very tough.

I think it's that more than matching up.

If Okur would just play the way he usually does, S.A.'s 7-footers won't be out on him, Okur would get even more looks from 3 than he is already. Also, if AK would make a defensive impact on these penetrations, then this series could change. It's just Ginobli and Parker are playing too well, they read everything, even when AK comes from their blindside, it's like they know he's there, and they kick it out to a Finley or Barry for a wide open 3.

The Spurs are playing beautiful basketball, but our rebounding will keep us with a pulse in every game. We just have to hit more shots and play better defense. Sounds simple, but it's not!

Regardless, the Spurs are putting on a clinic.

Yeah it has been a Clinic......I hope the jazz make it a better series though..I feel bad for them (except for Fisher)

That's kind of what I'm trying to look at. I mean we got dominated in those 2 games hard, but what were the final scores? We only lost by 8 & 9 respectively when they should have been 20 point blowouts.

When the Spurs get a 20 point lead, they very rarely keep on the throttle. Both games 1 and 2 were over at the half and the Spurs did just enough not to let the Jazz get too close.

A loss is a loss broseph.

And for whoever said 'A for effort' (A-Train I think it was)....We are showing a half-assed attempt at giving an effort compared to what we usually are doing. Guys are whining, blaming officials and teammates for their mistakes....These aren't the usual Jazz. These are the Jazz who collapsed at the end of the season. It's a shame they came back, we were having so much fun before!

Not taking anything for granted. This could come back here tied. I know Utah is a tough gym to play in, but this Spurs team right now looks like they are on a mission and nothing is going to get in their way this time.

I suspect a split in Utah, but if the Spurs pull out game 3, I'm not sure the Jazz will have enough in the tank to compete very well in game 4. They will know they are bucking almost impossible odds.

That said, the Jazz fans on this board have truley been amazing compared to fans from other teams we have competed with. Lots of sportsmanship and lots of knowledge. Find it hard to even have a grudge against this team.

Enjoy the sportsmanship while you can, cause I suspect we are going to get a dose of trolls, if we win WC, not matter which team comes outta the East.

Deron and Boozer are playing well -- you just need more bench production. That's really where the Spurs have dominated.

Also, what's up with Boozer's defense? I'm amazed he's letting Oberto fly by him for easy layups.

I feel the same way about the Spurs fans. But I thought they were better than what they showed in Game 1 (the lack of a sell out, obviously)... And I thought they were louder.

One big thing I love about the people on this board is that they don't praise the GS crowd, they know where the loudest arena in the NBA is, and they'll be there Saturday. The national media praised the Warriors and their fair-weather crowd, even put up a little 'Sound-o-meter' on the screen, only to discover the crowd was as loud as like a big orchestra or something.

Ha, now I'm just ranting. Spurs fans are knowledgable and actually worth chatting with. Head over to www.goldenstwarriors.com.....see how much fun you have before you do this >>>>>

When the Spurs have gotten up by like 17 and 18 though the numbers are so far in their favor I'm surprised it's even that close! Despite the Spurs looking sluggish in the 2nd halves of games they've hit the big shots when they've had to with the FT's in Game 1 and Bowen in Game 2.

    He's bad at this.

    Defense, that is.

He constantly stares at the ball, almost unwilling to see where his man is sometimes. It amazes me that he still gets boards without knowing where anybody is at. Fabuloso Oburn-boozer-o is fast. Or at least he looks fast compared to the cement in Booz's shoes.

If it weren't for his timely 3's, I think we could be talking about how Utah stole one they really shouldn't have in Game 2. Each time we were making a clutch run, and he took the wind out of us.

Sucks for us. Deja vu of the Warriors with those 11 3's.

Also Boozer really looks like the goat for this whole Oberto clinic, but it's moreso just the Spurs executing. Multiple times in Game 2 I saw Boozer in the key by himself with 2 Spurs around him without the ball. All TP or whoever had to do was give it to one of them because Booze was just trying to play both of them. I didn't like the job he did in Game 1, but in the 2nd game it wasn't entirely his fault.

That seems to be a cosistent problem with the Spurs....Taking the foot off the gas and letting teams back in. It's happened all season long. And has in fact cost us a few games.

You know, we went out to Phoenix and took game one, and even Tony said he thought they played game 2 like they were satisfied with the split. It could have cost them big time in the end. Just luckily it didn"t.

Pop has to keep them focused for 48 to prevent that happening again. I really hope they are able to finish this thing off in Utah. Don't even want to see them come back here 2-2.

Ive never been a Boozer fan and think he is slightly over-rated. He is a decent role player but never the cornerstone of a team. I think he was overpaid.

Good points. Let's remember the Rockets were up 2-0 against the Jazz too and lost the series - in Game 7 - at home! Sound familiar?

Let's not book reservations for Detroit just yet. The Jazz are too good of a team to overlook. They're just not going to lay down -especially in their building. There's still work to do.

But all 28 of Oberto's points are his fault. Every one of them. I think he has had 14 backdoor cuts for layups in this series.

As for you seeing Booz guarding two guys, I believe you saw the re ed zone Sloan threw us into inexplicably. We NEVER run zone, and the Spurs absolutely exploited it every single time we dropped into it. I'd rather see us get schooled in man instead of having to sit through the torturous way the Spurs' motion offense and ball movement blows right through Utah's weak attempt at playing zone. Bad move Mr. Sloan.

Not sure about right now, but he was averaging 25 and 14 for the 'offs after the W's series.

    Pretty good.

Yeah, cause Pop will chew their ass for running up the score.

Remember the blowout in game 1 of the Finals in 05 (I think it was) where Nazr hit that three pointer as time was running out? I think Nazr was in Pops doghouse from then on.

Maybe everyone is just afraid of the "wrath of Pop" if they run up the score.

Also, if Parker is allowed to get that deep in the paint, he's good enough to get the ball to an open shooter. The key is to stop him (I'm not giving away any trade secrets here). If the Jazz can force ALL of the action to go through Tim at the post, the Spurs offense tends to stagnate. Let's see if Sloan makes the adjustment.

Also, I've really been impressed with Milsap (sp?). He's an athletic freak and he's not very tall (6'7" ?).

All of Oberto's points haven't been Boozer's fault like you said. You said yourself it was the zone we went into for who the knows why. Also Boozer definitely isn't overpaid, despite his lackluster defense he more often than not makes up for it on the offensive side and rebounds.

He's an absolute monster on the boards/hustle plays, isn't he?

He was listed at 6'6" 1/4 at the Rocky Mountain Revue.

    SO happy we have him.
