After a horrible start, Yankees are now at 500, in second place in the AL East and are red hot with a lot of baseball to be played. They won't catch the Red Sox, but they'll make the playoffs, and that's all that matters.

If you're refering to me, i'm a Yankees fan. I don't see them catching The Red Sox.....but it could happen.....i guess. I do see them making the playoffs though.

naw, I wasnt reffering to you or anyone.

I was just reffering to the guy I quoted cuz he said Not so fast.

But in this thread Boston fans were saying: STANDINGS

Its way to early to be saying standings.

we were about 5 games back last year in Late June.
and were 8 1/2 games back now in Early June.

    Theres plenty of time left.

If we win the rest of our games chances are we will win the division

But I still think we will.

    And hoping as well

So.. were you or were you not referring? Make up your mind.

The guy you quoted is also a Yankees fan, and I think he was saying that he too believes that Yankees can catch the Sox, since he was DISAGREEING with Roger saying they wouldn't catch the Sox.

I'm so ed up in the brain I dont even know what I'm talking about

All I'm saying is we have a good shot.

We still have 2 series left vs Boston and were 8 1/2 games out.

If we keep playing like we are now and Boston loses here and there we will catch them by the all star break.

Then its all about the 2nd half of the season.

Yankees will win the division like always.

    But for Boston fans/Yankee Haters.
    Whatever.....

to say: Standings.. Check the Standings.
    Check the June standings.

    Its funny stuff.

Its only a matter of time

Not to mention I go back there Every year for a few games or so.

How is he a bulls fan isntead of knicks, then?
    Because I'm wierd

My family is a baseball family.
My dad is a diehard Yankees fan so I basically followed his footsteps.

I like the Bulls because when I was younger all I heard was Michael Jordan so I just liked them. I got Bulls stuff in my room from being younger and it stuck with me.

Then When I moved out here I like all Denver teams.

    Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanch, Rockies.

My 2 teams that Are my teams from heart would be Broncos and Yankees. I dont follow hockey enough to care much. And I like the Nuggets and Bulls kind of equally so I'm confused on who to root for

and I use to like both the Mets and Yankees When I was younger V2 But I began to HATE the Mets lol

    My sister likes the Mets

And I have Cousins who are Mets fans so you cant forget them

But my sister kind of lost touch with baseball.

She stopped watching after like 2000 I think.

She use to be a really big fan now she has more important things then baseball I guess.

When I have kids they will be Yankee fans. I wont let them visit my people on the Mets side of the family

offensively, the sox are hitting a rough spot right now, but they'll snap out of it. drew is finally starting to contribute (.317 in june), pedroia keeps surprising me, and ortiz is really connecting with the bat (HRs are down, but his doubles are way up meaning he's hitting them hard but just not hard enough). they just need either coco or lugo to start contributing offensively and there in good shape

as far as pitching goes, schill is consistently inconsistent, and thats my only worry. becketts been great save for one bad start. dice is starting to get it allowing only 4 ERs in his past 3 starts. too bad the sox offense only gave him 2 runs combined in those three starts. wakefield lives and dies on the knuckleball, but hes not too shabby for a number four starter. and finally crazyass lunatic julian taverez is exceeding expectations.

the bullpen has looked more human the past few games, but im not worried about it.

i personally believe the yankees will not catch the sox for the division, but the saying goes "baseball is unpredictable." maybe the sox'll have another meltdown like they did last year, or maybe it'll be the yankees turn this year.

    Good post

I still like The Yanks lineup better and the Yanks rotation better.

    Wang, Andy, Roger, and Moose

    Thats a great starting 4^
Now if only Hughes wasnt hurt or if Igawa can show he is as good as we pay him then we will be in great shape.

You have a good 3 with Dice, Curt, and Josh.

And Pretty soon Lester should be back in your lineup to replace Taverez probably. But he seems to be doing good lately.

I think we will be 4 back by the All star break

And I think we will still take the division.

    Baseballs such a crazy sport.

I like all Denver teams since I moved out here.
The only team I seemed to have from a diff state is the Yanks because They were the only sport I cared about when I lived back east and only sport I really knew.

Then the Bulls I guess you could call my Bandwagon team since All I heard was MJ and I picked them.

But I root for all Denver teams for the most part

I've probably moved more times than you will in your life

I lived in Texas for 11 years and now I'm living in New England. That's why I like the Celtics and Red Sox. But I'm preparing to move again
