ducks is a moron. You're bagging on his FT shooting when our best player Duncan is a worse FT shooter? Or have you forgotten another game 5 at the Palace? When Duncan missed FT after FT and Horry went ape in the 4th qtr and OT?

Screw the FT shooting. He was playing 1 on 5 there. Gooden fouled out. Gibson fouled out. Z fouled out. Hughes with his ass nailed to the bench. That's 4 of his best teammates on the bench. That would be like Duncan playing without Manu, Tony, Finley and Bowen. And scoring 29 of 30.

Who was he playing with? Snow, Pavlovic, Varejao and Marshall. Scrubs of the highest order. I know they gave him an open lane in the 4th quarter. But the shots in OT were ridiculous ... step back 20-footer, pull-up 3 from the wing, driving in traffic and finishing spectacularly amidst contact.

Yeah it was 1 game. But that was probably the best playoff effort in the last 15 or so years.

I've loved B-ball for seven years, and that's the first time I cried over a performance. Peja's airball in 2002 was a close one, though.

Oh, come on! That was Tim Duncan versus the NETS for Christ's sake.

    K-Mart?

This was a one man show versus one of the best Defensive teams in the NBA.

And he was being fouled. Hard. In practically every play. But the refs didn't give it to him, and he didn't give a .

He just went out and scored again and again.

Honeslty, the only reason anyone bags on Lebron is jealousy.

I don't want to come across like I'm not impressed with what Duncan did...it was certainly right up there with the all-time great performances....I just think that considering the glorified D-League team Lebron has around him, the fact that the 4 best players on the team other than Lebron were on the bench either injured or fouled out in the second overtime, and of course just watching what he did....I'll take Lebron's game as being the greater performance.

I'm just saying it wasn't the GREATEST playoff performance since Jordan retired...

It was really really amazing... but Ill take Timmy's game in the finals CLINCHER.

But of course... Jacking up really bad shots for a quarter and two overtimes and having every one of them go in is pretty fun to watch.

    Im not bagging at all...

Those WERE really bad shots... for anyone else on the planet...

Jordan made a career out of making bad shots...

    So have AI and Kobe...

It's the kind of basketball that is the most "fun" to watch...

OK, I see your point, but he did take it all the way a bunch of times, too.

Question: How many of those 29 points do you consider "bad" shots?

    Greatest Performance matchup:

Tim Duncan against a Nets team who had no answer for him, I mean come on K-Mart? The Spurs were inevitably going to beat the Nets, they had a better team and had better support. Robinson had like 15 points and 17 rebounds, SJax hit some shot, Ginobili made some runs etc.......

    Vs

Lebron against the Pistons, literally Lebron and the 12th, 11th, 10th, and 9th man off the bench against the 5 Piston starters. That would be like if Duncan didn't play with Robinson, Sjax, TP, and Manu against the Nets. And he single-handedly won the Cavs the game and possibly the series.

    What sounds more impressive?
    IMO Lebron.

    LeBron domiated.

I've been a harsh critic because he often doesn't display the fire necessary to win it when the game is on the line. But he played like a ing baller... except for some missed FTs that he should have made.

They weren't bad shots when you consider what his other options were. I'd take LeBron shooting a fadeaway 20 ft jumpshot over any of his current teammates shooting a wide open one every time (in that situation-4th qtr/OT of playoff game).
