That Laker upset against Detroit was so sweet, I remember it well.

The Cavs got under Pistons' skin. Pistons never looked alive, really. That could never happen to the Spurs. No way.
I remember 2004 upset was so sweet, because the Lakers had ousted the Spurs with .4 And I was telling my Laker friends " , well the winner of the west is the automatic winner of the Championship....sigh"

    then a month later,

I remember calling my friends saying "well, if there's nothing sweeter than seeing your team win the championship. Seeing the team you hate, go up in flames, is pretty sweet in itself"
I remember seeing the Lakers, and feeling ALMOST the same kind of enthusiasm I had in 2005 when the Spurs won it. I was kind of sick now that I think about it.

Anyway I think the Spurs will get under the Cavs players skins, including Lebron during some moments. Spurs know how to get teams out of their comfort zone.

My best friend is a die-hard Laker fan since childhood. I not only felt the same way, but I talked mad about it. Even though he kept throwing .4 in my face, I couldn't be shaken.

I wouldn't call you "sick". That would make me sick as well.

    On the other hand..........................

Bonified Laker fans always use diversion tactics when discussing a Laker debacle, past OR present.

I think most b-ball fans thought whoever played the Pistons in 2004 would win.

Hey, I actually watch Laker games during regular season in hopes of seeing them suffer.

Good, then I'm not alone! Because during the whole 2005 season, while the Spurs were going ape- , I was *also* enjoying the season seeing the Lakers achieve a 34-48 record with like double-digit game losing streaks.

I think, after I got that out of my system, I stopped paying *as* much attention to the Lakers' misery... Though I did start paying attention to their last four games at the end of this season as well, when I got wind of that they were on the verge of missing the playoffs again.

I think I'm pretty twisted about the Lakers but a lot of it has to do with putting up with my Laker Fan friends.

Laker fans are all the same.

When I used to visit the nba chat room on MSN, there was a guy there who's screen name was "lakers4peat".
After the Spurs beat the lakers in '03, he changed it to "lakers4in5yrs".
After Detroit beat the lakers in '04, he again changed it to "lakers4in6yrs".

Couldn't help laughing at that one.
