So does s and ass.![]()
Now if somebody were to respond in kind about Houston, to say "the weather sucks," or "it's flat and ugly," or "the traffic is horrible," or "the Texans are a joke," or "the Ship Channel is polluted," the typical Houstonian would respond, "Umm... and?"
So does s and ass.![]()
I don't think its about an inferiority complex. Nobody wants to hear people saying crap about the city in which you live, work and etc.
Oh, wrong thread...apparently the "your town sucks" flame war is already underway in the "Any Cavs Fans in San Antonio?" thread.
And also for the record, in my travels all over this fine country of ours, I can say without hesitation that, per capita, Ohio has the largest concentration of drop-dead gorgeous women of any state in the lower 48. Dunno why...maybe there's something in the water.
Really, go do that.
Go to a Rockets forum and do that, go to any active Houston forum and post that.
This is what you will get:
1. You'd be brand new so they'd rag on you for being a dumb troll, probably insult your mother, ban you.
2. If they didn't ban you and got you to tell them where you live, they'd go off on your city.
3. If you're known there, as in case 2, and the posters knew where you lived they'd begin to insult your city.
4. You're borderline re ed if you think they'll go "Uh, ok."
I agree with that. New York City has alot to but they are all prentious assholes. Ohio does have its fair share of good looking women
From the times I've been there, Arizona is king of the "old woman that looks young and kinda hot from afar but on closer inspection, yikes."
Oh, I see -- Rockets forums are a more representative sample than living in the city itself.
That was a pretty mild article.
If anything, it made more fun of itself than San Antonio...
"How does our new rival compare with our city? San Antonio is growing, with a strong economy and lots of jobs – right where our politicians promise us Cleveland will be. Some day. "
Ouch. And we have an inferiority complex?![]()
It's normal for a city to be able to poke fun at itself.
So you live in Houston?
So what are you basing your generalizations of SA on? Internet message boards, or what your own personal experience from living here as well?![]()
I was once rendered speechless by an absolute hottie working in the toll booth on the Ohio Turnpike at the Indiana border.
There are fine women in the freaking toll booths in Ohio. That's how many babes they have. They're sticking them in the toll booths!
Sorry to tell you, that was a man.
No it wasn't, Crab man...

And they're either porn stars, fake, or men.
Couldn't agree more. Guy's definitely not taking himself too seriously. I giggled.![]()
I grew up there, and still go back often.
The culture is what it is.
So where exactly do you live now?
And again, where do you base your generalizations from?
I base my generalizations on personal experience.
You are the textbook example of a San Antonian with an inferiority complex overcompensating for it. You doth protest too much.
I have no inferiority complex whatsoever but I'm happy you can read me via computer. Wanna play poker?
You doth pretend too much.
Yes, but how much is ACTUAL woman and how much is artificial?
Same here. Grew up in SA, now live in Houston (Katy).
I love living here, but I love SA as well. My kids were born there and I have family buried there.
Make a crack about Houston to the locals and they will join in and give you three more. It's just the way that they embrace their city.
I can say this because I am guilty of it myself: SA tries too hard to make people like them, then has a hard time accepting when people don't.
That was funny
except the Coonskin cap is false history. but oh well.
Same here....lived in Alliance (outside of Canton) until I was about 5yrs old. My parents are from Marion...(home of former Pres. Harding and the popcorn festival), I have cousins in Cleveland, Columbus Grove, Bluffton, and Toledo. There are some wonderful sites in Ohio such as THE PIATT CASTLES in West Liberty, Ohio.
The only thing that got me was the toilet seat museum. My first thought was..."we do?!?" I'll be damned never heard of it.
You can bet the curator (Barney Smith) of that museum will be glad he got mentioned, his attendance and sales will increase now. Nothing like free publicity.
