if spurs thought it would be a distraction they would have told him to accept the job and make sonics announce after finals
sam is no longer a spur so he does not get credit with the spurs le IF they win

It's less about it being a distraction and more about him now using knowledge gained from scouting for the Spurs on a draft that is a few weeks away. You at least want to make the Sonics draft based on their own scouting from the past year.
sam would be on the phone behind the scenes anyhow
spurs should swap picks
C'mon guys, Sam's legacy is getting this guy two free trips to Utah in July.

For the same pay?
Exactly.
Not really.

Well if Sam like Beno - maybe he can take him to Seattle with him and send Earl Watson to SA.![]()
Take Francisco Elson and send Squatch in return.
I've got a little rhyme for the ocasion.
"If we win, let's deny Presti the Ring..."
The Spurs would probably have to throw in a second rounder.

I think you're just upset you didn't think of it first.
Please. The last thing we need is a PG who can defend.![]()
Now that's more like it.
I'd be interested in knowing Pop's take on this situation. I'm sure he'll compliment Presti but I've seriously never heard of someone associated with an NBA team jumping ship during a playoff run.
Presti couldn't have told them to hold off on the press conference for a couple weeks?
That is unusual. Orlando is trying to hire Stan Van Gundy now that Donovan backed out, none of the teams are left in the playoffs yet Riles is wanting some compensation. Pop lets Seattle speak with Presti and out of courtesy, Presti could have accepted the offer and held off on announcing until the season is over.
