There was another Christmas related thread from the same time period that I wanted to bump, but it got really ugly at the end ...
We always exchange gifts and by the end of the day...insults too.
We always exchange, hopefully, surprise gifts, and get something for the house--this year's household gifts came in May when her TV and the washer broke down on consecutive days and in a manner that would've cost more to repair than to replace; luckily it was just in time for the Memorial Day sales

We did for the first few years. After that we just went to a nice restaurant for supper.
She has a list of things she would like and so do I. We write about five or six things on those lists and try to get one another a few things from those lists.
That's a total misunderstanding of the facts and I categorically deny it....

I usually make it a surprise. And she usually gets me what I want.

We still exchange gifts, even after 10 years- we say the big gifts are from Santa to keep it all in line for the kids.

The wife straight up tells me what she wants. I'm horrible at gift giving, I would have bought her a heating pad had she not steered me in the right direction.
I have no idea what she got me this year. She caught on to me logging on to the bank account and researching where she had been, so she went Randy Moss and paid straight cash homey this year.
We exchange gifts. A few of them are gifts we asked for and the rest are surprises
