Hopefully something can be had in exchange for Barry. I think he's just not a good fit on the court for the Spurs - they have enough shooters with Finley, Manu, Bowen, and now even Parker to an extent.

Losing Barry in exchange for some improved SF depth and another PG in exchange for Beno would be ideal.

Spurs need to make the personnel changes to defeat Dallas they failed to do last year. Nothing too drastic, but they can't rest on their laurels.
True, but I'm interested to see what Dallas does in the offseason. There's talk around here of blowing up the team and making big changes due to the high ratio of chokers to guts on that team.

    Barnes would be ok.

I just think Nocioni or Pietrus are the huge targets you gotta go after.

With the NBA draft less then 2 weeks away it'll be interesting to see if the spurs can draft a player or 2 that will make the team next year, plus we don't know who's coming back yet... Oberto? Finley? Horry?

Wow, this looks like a great year to not get into free agency and just work with the guys who are in our system. The only guy I would want off that list is Milik Rose and that is because he was one of my all time favorite Spurs.
Vito remember don't let emotions get in the way of business. That's all it is ... business ... or at least until the .....ship.

Mcdyess said he wants to play for the Pistons. Early in the year when he was brought in trade rumors he said if he would of been traded he would of retired.

San Antonio will make a move for a pg.

RC and Pop want Vaughn back.

I think Beno get's shipped along with the 28th and maybe the early 30 pick to move up to the late teens or early twenties.

With that said, the Spurs draft Sergio Rodriguez or Thadeus Young (long SF).

I do not believe the Spurs will make a huge splash with the MLE unless they can get the player(s) to sign similar deals like Elson and Butler (two year deals).

If so, I am on board with getting a PG (draft), nice hardworking wing (Udoka, Khryapa, etc) or even throwing the cash to Scola, so he can get his ass over here already.

Matt Barnes, Grant Hill, Antonio McDyess, Mikael Pietrus, Walter Hermann, Andres Nocioni, Morris Peterson...

    All good options.

Pietrus said he wants to come here and play with Tony. Let's hope we can land him.

When and where did Pietrus say that?

I know Tony wanted Boris here before he was traded to Phoenix.

However, it makes perfect sense why Pietrus would say that...the French Connection.

Don't you think the 2007 Spurs could've defeated both the 2006 Mavs (or the 2007 Mavs had they met in the PO)?

I agree. Depth's really needed most at point guard, but if there was a way to get either Walton, Wallace or Barnes I'd love it.

When the search option is re-enabled, look it up. I know there was an article discussing it.

I think Matt Barnes is pretty good. He shoots 3s nicely, and he passes the ball pretty good too. So I think he would be a good option. When I was watching Golden State beat Dallas, Matt Barnes was pretty impressive...

The problem with Barnes is that - after the Mavs series - he will probably get a contract much greater than what he actually gives you.

They were talking about trading him to Toronto or some other team with no chance to contend. Bottomline is if he doesnt think that the Pistons have a chance to win then he is gone. I am sure that he will give Dumars a chance to do something but looking at you guys in the ECF I am sure he has his doubts.

Worry about reupping Billups and see what happens with Rasheed before you start making statements about McDyess coming back.

OMG...the guy sucks. He has no jumper, cannot matchup against the athleticism of the West coast front court guys (Amare, Oden, Durant, etc), and his age has decreased his ability to hustle. Leave him for someone else.

Before we just throw out random players, lets remember this San Antonio! We not only display the the talent, we have the BRAINS to execute our game plan! I don't think everybody listed here is on our radar for that reason alone. Just my thoughts.

Forget Wallace or anybody with half a name. Too expensive.
Luke Walton's interesting, though, since he clearly needs a structured environment to thrive--you can't just throw him the ball and stand back, which is what most people want when they go shopping, so he might not draw huge interest and thus remain reasonably priced.

    How's Devin Brown's back?
