Well DUH! It's obviously not about the Mavs!

All the talk is about the Spurs, so Kobe needs more attention ; he doesn't deserve to wear a Laker jersey ; Kareem, West, Magic, etc.... were fantastic players, great teammates.... Kobe is an $%*!
By the way, I read somewhere that one of his former bodyguards is releasing a book about Kobe and his infidelities.
If that's true, Kobe si D e a d M e a t.
Kobe posts on his Web site about rift growing between himself, Lakers

LOS ANGELES -- Kobe Bryant posted a message on his Web page Sunday strongly suggesting the superstar wanted to be traded from the Lakers.
"When you love something as much as I love the Lakers its [sic] hard to even imagine thinking about being elsewhere," he wrote on his Web site, kb24.com. "But, the ONE THING I will never sacrifice when it comes to basketball is WINNING."
The two-time scoring champion also wrote: "The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future."
The 28-year-old nine-time All Star has four years left on his contract, but can terminate it following the 2008-09 season.
Bryant last month voiced frustration at Lakers management and publicly requested he be traded after the team was eliminated by Phoenix in the first round of the playoffs.
Though he said nothing could change his mind, Bryant later backed off after speaking with coach Phil Jackson.
"I don't want to go anywhere -- this is my team," Bryant told KLAC radio at the time. "I love it here. I called Phil, man. He and I talked; it was an emotional conversation. But he just said, 'You know what, Kobe? Let us try to figure this thing out."'
The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future.
But Sunday's post was a not-so-subtle hint that tension remained between Bryant and the franchise. - Ya think? Bryant wrote that the Lakers, owned by Jerry Buss, had not backed him with players the team needs to win championships.
"The Lakers are pursuing a longer-term plan that is different from what Dr. Buss shared with me at the time I re-signed as a free agent," he wrote. "I have seen that plan unfold for the last three years and watched great trade opportunities come and go, and have seen free agents passed on. That has led to the Lakers not winning a playoff series."
Buss' spokesman Bob Steiner and Lakers spokesman John Black both declined comment Sunday.
Buss, who signed off on Bryant's seven-year $136.4 million contract in 2004, two weeks ago issued a statement stating, "We will continue to pursue every avenue possible to improve our team with him as the cornerstone."
Bryant earned $17.72 million last season and will earn $88.6 million over the next four years. He is considered one of the NBA's most dominant players and a top draw at the Staples Center.

Lebron is already more of a leader than Kobe da Kancer will ever be.
You guys coughed up a 3 point lead with 30 seconds to go in Game 7 against us, you coughed up a 2-0 lead to the Lakers in 2004. Avery wants us to emulate the Spurs but we went a little too far. What can we say, we learned from the Master.
Too bad you couldn't emulate those 4 championships.
Our window hasn't closed Kreskin.
Seen the light have you my young Padawan?

For all you MJ lovers that never saw him play...or god forbid looked at the newspapers during those early times prior to them winning.....Imagine the internet back then...All credit goes to drzucchini (Star Player) for digging up these quotes. drzucchini posted them in a reply on another thread (http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=43476), but given the uproar by haters over Kobe's public comments, it's a worthwhile reminder that leaders sometimes have to go public with their criticisms and concerns to affect change and inspire excellence.
If you have a problem with Kobe calling out the organization and the quality of his teammates, you must have had a serious problem with Michael Jordan:
"We're beating a lot of poor teams. So what? We won a lot of games last year, too. Will Horace and Bill still be playing at this level in the playoffs...Can Pip keep it up?"
"I hate being out there with those garbagemen. They don't get you the ball."
"They've got no idea what it's all about. The white guys, they work hard, but they don't have the talent. And the rest of them? Who knows what to expect? They're not good for much of anything."
"I know what's gonna happen. We'll wait until the last minute and then they'll say something like they couldn't get a deal done because of the cap or somebody pulled out at the last minute. It happens here all the time. I don't know why I'm surprised every year."
"He can't do anything with the ball. Don't give it to him." - Michael yelling at Paxson who passed the ball to Perdue
"You ever hear of a guy, six-eleven maybe and two hundred sixty pounds, a guy big and fat like that and he can't get but two rebounds, if that many, running all over the damn court and he gets two rebounds? Big guy like that and he gets one rebound. Can't even stick his ass into people and get more than that...Big, fat, fat guy. One rebound in three games. Power forward. Maybe they should call it powerless forward." - Michael ripping Stacey King a new one
"He was scared in there and panicking. He just lost it when Stockton scored." - Michael on B.J. Armstrong's mental fragility
I'll let them stand up and take responsibility for themselves."
"We have to do some things. We need to make some changes."
"...I call them 'the Looney Tunes.' Physically, they were the best. Mentally, they weren't even close."
"He's scared. He's got no heart...Nobody told me that. If I had spoken up, he wouldn't have been here."
"I know I can recognize what to do, but I'm not sure they can."
"It's a of a lot easier to make Earl Monroe look good than it is Brad Sellers."
"I hope there's a jumpshot in there." - Michael to Stacey King who was walking into the locker room with a box
"They don't need a ticket to watch you sitting on the bench. They can go to your house for that." - Michael to Charles Davis who was sorting through his tickets for his family and friends
"Give me the ******* ball." - Michael to Doug Collins who drew up a play for Dave Corzine
"I hate when I have to read that in the papers the next day, that I couldn't do something. It wasn't my fault."
"You're an idiot. You've screwed up every play we ever ran. You're too stupid to even remember the plays. We ought to get rid of you." - Michael to Horace Grant
"If you [pass the ball to Bill Cartwright], you'll never get the ball from me."
"We're not winning because of talent. We're just beating bad teams."
"Headache tonight, Scottie?" - Michael asks Scottie, while showing him his 2-for-16 line
"It's probably a twelve-day. He needs two days to wake up." - Michael on a ten-day contract teammate
"Five more years and I'm out of here. I'm marking these days on a calendar, like I'm in jail. I'm tired of being used by this organization, by the league, by the writers, by everyone."
"They're not interested in winning. They just want to sell tickets, which they can do because of me. They won't make any deals to make us better. And this Kukoc thing. I hate that. They're spending all their time chasing this guy."
"If I were a general manager, we'd be a better team."
"Will Vanderbilt. He doesn't deserve to be named after a Big Ten school." - Michael on Will Perdue
"I want to prove the critics wrong...I want to see some serious moves from management, which I really haven't seen that much of yet, and I want to see more serious at udes from my teammates this year when it comes to the playoffs. In the past, it's been more or less a joking thing, sort of a 'Well, we're here, so let's have a good time.'"
"I'm sure everything will be fine if we win, but if we start losing, I'm shooting."
"I know what I would do if I were coach. I'd determine our strengths and weaknesses and utilize them. And it's pretty clear what our strength is."
"Your boy doesn't want to play. I'm tired of bailing his ass out." - Michael yelling at Jim Cleamons about Dennis Hopson
"I don't know about trading a 24 year-old guy for a 34 year-old guy." - Michael questioning the Oakley trade
"He's causing me too many turnovers." - Michael on Cartwright's inability to catch
"Why the don't you ever set a pick like that in a game?" - Michael yelling at Perdue after also hitting Perdue upside his head (led to the ins ution of the private curtain for practices)
Again, credit goes to the mighty drzucchini for dredging this quotes. I just wanted to make sure they got the prominence they deserve, as opposed to being overlooked as a reply on another thread.

Take the most dangerous young team in the east right off the board. Sounds good to me.
Out of all the great games that stand out in my memory of jordan, the time when he cussed out pippen for not passing the ball to him on a made basket really stands out! Now that showed an all about me at ude. IMO
BTW, kobe removed the article.
Don't forget the gambling debts that forced his first retirement. While MJ is still the GOAT the NBA's done a lot to promote his clean, perfect image in the eyes of the world.

Kobe to Dallas? At least that gives the Mavs a real leader for once.
Finley and Nash weren't leaders? Dirk's not a leader?

So Dallas is the only team in NBA History to ever give up a lead?

You'd have to ask Baron Davis that.
It'll never happen. Too bad.
