Yet he plays better D than Francisco Elson. He's won on every level. His motor doesn't stop and the mistakes he makes are more likely to be errors of commission that come from playing hard rather than errors of omission.

We're all about that extra pass, and this kid can pass! His basketball IQ is extremely high for his age and the amount of PT he has seen. He makes good decisions and only takes smart shots. I can't say for certain, but he comes off as a very unselfish player. If he could play an ounce of defense, then this would be the pickup that everyone will be talking about by the All Star break.

Given the contracts that both will be offered this summer, Bonner is the better fit. Walton is like the anti-Bruce Bowen in pretty much every sense possible. He'd be a horrible fit as small forward of the future.

Bonner is Horry's replacement at shooting PF, not SF, so do you see him as Bruce's understudy? I don't.

Also agree that Walton is a far better open court than half-court player - muth nailed that.

I like Luke, and he's a Spurs kinda guy, but he doesn't fit what we need right now - a superathletic defensive SF... that is, unless you wanna play him at backup point?

Bonner's a keeper for now. Not many PFs that can hit the longball available.

    yes, walton is talented.

he has a high basketball IQ, passes extremely well, good hands, can score on the low post, and will hustle and play hard D.

    he is spurs material.
Absolutely. I'd like to see the Spurs go after him. He's got the length (6'8"), the IQ and hustle. Granted, the D needs to be worked on but I think he's got the drive and determination to get it done. If we lose Barry, Finley, or even Bonner I think he would be a great add and could really flourish in our system as a SF.

    it's official. I <3 the Red Rocket.
If his "raising the roof" and beatboxing on the Riverwalk didn't already make him dorktastic enough for this team...well then this clip seals the deal.
He bought a new car - a Pontiac Grand Prix.
Because it had leg room and good gas milage. Oh - and he bought it in New Hampshire so he wouldn't have to pay sales tax.

Robert Horry hit 35% from the arc in the playoffs. Would you care to restate that?

I think Bonner fits the Spurs needs better than Walton. Walton is probably more athletic, but I think Bonner fits better. Bonner seems as though he was made to play for the Spurs.

Spurs could have had Luke Walton when they traded their pick in 2003.

No. Can't stand Walton. Bonner will be fine...just give him another season. He is very energetic, rebounds when no one else seems willing to (even Timmy), and will get his shot back. All the "pure" shooters arrive in San Antonio with a terrific shot, lose it about ten games into their career here, and don't get it back until sometime after the halfway mark of the season AFTER they arrive. Think about Kerr, Finley, Ferry, Horry. It just seems that our offense requires them to think too much, and great shooters need rhythm more than thought. It finally comes back, though. Bonner will be fine. Walton's ego would never let him fit in around here.

Those videos of Bonner are hilarious.

On the court, he may not be a super-stud, but he is versatile. He can rough it up down low for rebounds (ask Garnett), get in a good subtle cheap shot on screens (ask Deron), and he can step outside for the 3. He's not a skinny puss either... he brings the meat (don't think dirty). Plus, he's ing hilarious... that's so important on this team.

I love Bonner, and I think he's going to do well with the Spurs given some time.
He gives everything he's got every time he's on the court...How can you not love having someone like that on this team?
They just need to find the right spot for him.
    No Walton.
