Tony played great in every game in the Playoffs. Sure, he was the best in the Finals, but it's not like he choked against Nash or anything.

    Well, I'm assuming two things:

    1. Tony will get even better.

    2. Spurs will find other talent to surround Parker with.

Maybe I am dreaming, but I see Tony Parker as the future of the Spurs.
The Spurs are going to find another Tim Duncan? Yeah, you're dreaming.

Look, when Tim is done, not only is Parker going to be gone, Pop is retiring as well. (Manu would leave as well, theoretically, but his career already would have ended by then.) Pop has been very clear about that. The Spurs as we know them will be over. They will have to rebuild utterly from scratch just like the Bulls did after MJ.

Spurs fans will spend May of 2012 anticipating which pick the Spurs will get in the lottery.

Not a Tim Duncan, that's impossible.

But a team that will complement Tony, that's possible. Will we still be dominant? No. But we could make the playoffs.

Will that be enough for Tony? No. Probably not.

Then again, Eva will be 36 by then. Won't she have to retire from acting?
Yes. When you're career is based around something like the flavor and depth of "Desperate Housewives," 36 sounds about right. And that's if she can make a career transition to over-the-hill wife, serious actress, comic actress with perspective on the evils of suburban life, etc. She'll need to pull out another stop, another color. Anyway...

I could definitely see Tony ending up in LA. Which means we have 4 years to think about a replacement. Make that 3 so we can trade him to LA for something and not just let him walk.

I think that when DH is over, Eva won't be doing much. It's hard to go from a hit show to either the big screen or another hit show. Witness Friends and Seinfeld peeps.

We'll have bigger problems than replacing Tony, as Extra Stout has illustrated.

If it happens, it happens...I can't really blame him then...he is looking for the best interest of him and his family. We would all probably do the same thing.
And unless we can get Dwight Howard we will be rebuilding for a couple of years then.

Let's just enjoy Tim, Tony and Manu while they are still in their primes!
Live for the moment and there is a lot more to be won before 2011...

The grass is not always greener elsewhere. Besides L.A. is a cesspool...

He could very well be gone from the Spurs before he has a choice on the matter. When the writing is on the wall, he's going to be our most valuable/tradeable commodity. Maybe our ONLY valuable one.

It's no disrespect to Parker to say he probably won't ever be the kind of player you build a Championship team around. He'll be good enough to carry us to the Playoffs and keep us out of the Lottery. Our best choice in that case would be to trade him for youth and draft picks.

On the other hand, who knows what this team will look like in 2011? I'd love for Parker to retire a Spur, but we'll have to evaluate the state of the team in a few years. And, particularly if it doesn't look like Parker intends to return, I wouldn't want to let him leave without getting something in return for him.

First....be happy that Tony is an all-star, Finals MVP point guard at 25 years old and has another 4 season in the black and silver.

Second...I find it interesting, but it seems like Tony wants the LA life more than Eva, who seems to be content with living the low-key life in SA.

Finally....If Tony is gone after 2010/11, I have full confidence in this front office to make the right moves so that the cubbard isn't bare when he (and most likely Tim) goes.

Good point another great example is 'Sex and the City' which is an R rated DH where are those ladies now, Sarah Jessica Parker is doing L'Oreal commercials
you never now Eva and Tony may not be together by 2011 or if they are they may have kids by then and want to settle down in a quiet less hectic city like us (S.A.) rather than L.A. although Tony Going to a big market team would not surprise me I mean out of all the Spurs he has to be the least humble. Who knows Tony could be using Eva as his golden ticket into Hollywood (L.A.)

It is difficult and probably fruitless to speculate what will happen in 2011.
Duncan could blow out his knee tomorrow and all this would be pointless.
Or Oden would like to play for his childhood hero David Robinson and come to the Spurs.
Tony will be around 30 in 2011, given that he is a player who's game is predicated on quickness, I am not sure how many years he would be effective past 30.

Nice post with you on that one you never know what will happen by then only time can tell and since we are not Marty McFly we will just have to wait and see but for now lets just bask in the glory of being a Dynasty in the making and hopefully go for a back to back

Tony's game TO THIS POINT has been predicated on quickness, but would you agree that he has improved in every facet of the game, especially his jumpshot, so that his quickness is not his only asset?

IMO, Tony has the talent and work ethic to grow beyond just being that guy who scores by being faster than everyone....and he has already begun to show signs of being able to do that.

Whats the over/under on how long they will be married? Hollywood odds probably wouldn't have them still together in 2011. I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but 2011 is a rather long time from now...alot can change. Maybe she won't even be a popular actress any more. She could always take over as the World Car girl in 2011. That way she keeps acting and he stays a Spur.
Anyone who saw the way Eva was after game 4 wouldn't be so cynical, methinks.

This may appear to be a celebrity wedding, but I have a feeling there's a lot more there than just s ust.

As for Parker leaving, we are talking about 2011 right? Who cares? Enjoy the beauty of our Big 4 while we have them. Eventually we will have to rebuild, but we don't have to worry about what happens to TP in 2011 just yet, surely?

Tony will be like Tim at 2000.. Tony wants to leave, Tim comes back from his vacation from Singapore back to Los Angeles(or whoever who's trying to sign him) to convince him to stay on with the Spurs and make him trust the Spurs organisation, assuming pop's stayin around, to assemble the right team for tp.

This article/interview was posted months ago.

Anyway, it's a logical thing to say that he'll take into account his wife's career. But who knows if his wife we'll even be an actress then. She might be home making babies.

It's not something to worry about in 2007. Tony has repeatedly said how much he loves San Antonio, I'm sure he'll strongly lean toward staying here if it's the right thing for him to do for his career and his family.

Que será, Será. It will not be the end of the world. Knowing Pop, he'll get something out of it. It may be re-building time for us by then. And since Tony will be in the prime of his career, he'll bring plenty in return for the Spurs.

I'll be with the Spurs no matter where Tony and Eva go. I wish them well.

Don't give a about Parker taking off. My biggest worry is the Spurs stability in San Antonio and the actual franchise seeking greener pastures.

As long as they reside in SA, its all feathers.

I think Tony assumes Pop will be gone by then and Tim retired (that's what he said in interviews). If Pop is still here, it's more likely Tony stays.
