Probably nothing.
Although, you might refer to it for a peek of your ultimate destiny.![]()
Fine, be contrary. But, I was only arguing against the point that Jesus had the benefit of knowing the scriptures to help him fulfill them.
Some of the prophesies were fulfilled merely in his birth, death, and resurrection.
That's all I'm saying...
Probably nothing.
Although, you might refer to it for a peek of your ultimate destiny.![]()
Yeah, that's what we're told.![]()
God wasnt created for us, we were created for him. Glorify and fellowship with him, and may I say its the most full filling thing I have ever experienced.
I see. So, Dante is canon now? Cool.
D'okie dokie.
I didn't say that.
the big problem, of course, is that we are forced to believe he fulfilled all these things based on the same book that prophesized that they would occur. it's like reading a book in which a soothsayer says a hero will slay the dragon and, whattaya know, by the end of the book, that hero has slain that there dragon.
not to mention why is the revelation given out by 40 some-odd writers over a period of years? god knows what's going to happen, and it would be far more miraculous to have it all spill out of one guy, particularly had that one person just been abraham, further making that lineage impressive.
and no, i don't agree with this:if he wants some relationship with me, treat me like moses or any of the other folks who got to see an angel or god incarnate in some bush or something, not grasping at the still-interpretated book written by a whole bunch of people. and it's not that great of a gift to be saved from a damnation brought about by the creator. the only sin that was first committed was disobedience, and the punishment did not have to be eternal torment but was chosen to be so by god. the idea of being grateful to the rapist for withholding the rape because i gave in to the advances and had sex is just stupid. He loves us so much
Think about it, God loves us so much that For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. Think about that. God loves us so much that he created us and wanted a personal relationship with us so much that he did this. This is just incredible. His love is ever lasting. He loves his children, his creation that's why we are in his image. He is Great!
and since i've got you here, and you seem pretty zealous, explain this one for me. people sufffer and feel pain, and the idea was always explained to me as a way to teach mankind and make him stronger in his faith and whatnot. but that doesn't explain why animals suffer and feel pain. why does such a merciful lord allow the creatures he created to be tormented and abused (michael vick comes to mind) when they can gain nothing from it? certainly mankind was put in charge of the beasts and birds, as genesis describes, but that doesn't point to why they should feel anything. and why don't trees and vegetables feel pain and suffer? what ever gain comes by allowing dogs to slowly starve before being torn to bits by a bigger mutt in some dog fight can surely be gotten by rows of corn crying out as the harvester swoops them up. granted, you are not in a position to answer the question, because you are not god and did not make that choice. the problem is god never provides the answer either while all the while presenting some perception that all the answers are in the bible (if you are a believer, which i obviously am not).
i'm bored so the topic gives me something to do. thanx.
