ahh you must be close to the CO then. usually with DSL the closer you are to the central office for the area the better your speeds are. at least it worked that way 5 years ago.
CO = Central Office? There's one on Culebra, but that's a looooonnnng street so it could be downtown or it could be on the NW side of town where I am and I don't right by Culebra.
There is one on Grissom Road and referred to as
Culebra or listed as such on the phone bill.
is a bigger number or smaller number better?
I run mine thru two speed test (different sites) both about the
same: 1438 down and 950 up. I am on ATT but not their
fastest. I use the ATT U-verse package, suppose to be fiber,
but it is copper to the house. And more than likely to the
terminal for the area. Might be fiber to cross connect about
two blocks from my house.
I see. I'm not right by Grissom, but probably within 10 miles. My number does show up as Culebra.
I think the smaller the better. Not sure though.
The bigger # the better.....more kb/sec transfers = faster downloads...
