Good win for Mexico! congrats, you guys had a lot of luck, but luck plays a big part in football. I actually was surprise how unlucky Brazil had it, those games that no matter wtf you do the ball is not gonna go in.

BTW Mexico's missing players in no way compare to Ronaldinho, Kaka, and Adriano...

But they are keys to Mexico's game, nonetheless...

Jared Borgetti (Mexico's all-time leading scorer)
Andres Guardado (the young phenom who will likely play in Europe next season)
Carlos Salcido (Champion with PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch League - and as good a defender as Rafael Márquez)
    Ricardo Osorio (another star defender)
Pavel Pardo (Both he and Osorio are Bundesliga Champions with VfB Stuttgart - On a side note Pardo came in 4th place in League MVP voting)
Giovanni Dos Santos (extremely talented '10' - only 18 years old - currently playing back up role for Ronaldinho on FC Barcelona squad in preparation for the 2007-2008 season).

Not to mention Cuauhtémoc Blanco or Adolfo Bautista didn't even play...

This was not México's A-Team by any stretch of the imagination.

The bright side is the fact that several new (younger) players got a chance to shine...

Francisco 'Memo' Ochoa whom I consider at this stage in his career a much better goal-keeper than Oswaldo Sanchez.
    Juan C. Cacho
    Jaime Correa
Israel Castro - the guy who threaded the nice volley for Nery Castillo's goal.
Luis Angel Landín - who wouldn't even be playing were not for the severity of the injury Borgetti sustained in the Copa de Oro Final vs. the U.S.

One final comment..... How in the world does Castillo miss that wide open goal at the end of the game????
Speaking of Dos Santos (and his quality on the pitch)..... Here is what Giovanni Dos Santos has been up to lately...

Heading the attack of Mexico's Sub-20 Team at FIFA's Sub-20 World Cup in Cananda.

Mexico's future (soccerwise) seems brighter with him and his brother Jonathan Dos Santos taking great strides in becoming world class players.

    Mexico's future core:

    Memo Ochoa:...............23 years old
    Nery Castillo:................21 years old
    Andres Guardado:..........22 years old
    Giovanni Dos Santos:.....18 years old
Jonathan Dos Santos:....16 years old (too early, I know, but people say he's better than Giovanni)
    Carlos Vela:.................19 years old
