I tried this beer Chimay and its one of my favorites by far in terms of pure taste. It sounds very , like if you asked for it you'd expect the guy behind the counter to punch you in the face, but its really good. Authentic imported stuff from a monastery in Belgium, one of those beers that comes in a 24 oz bottle with a cork like champagne. Very expensive though, like 10.30 for a single bottle which is roughly equal to 2 beers. But it's 9% alcohol, so really its like 4 beers.
The taste is amazingly complex. But weighed on a taste/cost basis, its not the best beer.
solid choices. i recently tried shiners new 98 and really enjoyed it. if i'm on a budget, i'll usually just get a six pack of ziegen bock or dos equis.
Dog pee.
I bet even that slovenly lush thispego would get wasted if he drank 4 Chimays
which chimay? red, white, blue? if you like that, try the bernardus 12.
I tried the Blue, those monks sure do know how to brew some brew.
trappist ales are usually pretty good. the bernardus 12 has 12% alcohol ^_-

chlorophyll more like borophyll
does it TASTE as good as chimay though?
better imo, you don't even notice the alcohol. they have it in big bottles at grapevine for $7.99, chimay is about the same. they also have it on tap at the alamo at lakecreek (which i get free because my wife is a manager at the south lamar one), and at the Draught House on medical - where i am going sunday to get hosed.
Chimay is only 8 bucks in san antonio?
Damn I didn't think Dallas could possibly suck any more.
austin - grapvine has good prices though, it's 2-3 bucks more at HEB
this bernardus 12 that you speak of intrigues me.
Indio from Mexico.
Shiner Bock from Texas.
That's all you need in life.
Shiner 98 and Fat Tire are also bad ass.
San Mig Light - Philippines' best![]()

All my friends have had Sierra Nevada and they said that it is the worst beer ever.
I have yet to have it, so I couldn't have an opinion on it.
