I guess at this point, it's baseball philosophies, but I think not having the hard choices to make in the first place (defensive lineup) is the worse move.

I suppose. Personally, I would have used Pujols there -- Soriano played CF last year in Washington for some portion of the season and Pujols has played LF in the not-too-distant past, so if you go extras, you're not entirely selling out your ability to defend if you're left with Albert in left.

My only point is that I can understand why Larussa made the choices he made -- not to say that I would have made the same choices.
