the more i read posts from wild cobra, the more i think its Yonivore creating another handle so he can provide the illusion of having more support on this board.
I assure you, I am unique. I am not Yoni. This is the only handle I use in these forums. I use Wild Cobra on the Mega-touch games also.

I mean do people that stupid even exist in oregon?
There are a great number of stupid people in Oregon ever since we have been Californicated. I'm just a native home-grown. Lived here all my civilian life.

Golly Gee. I made the board again. Just maybe you folks that
are so critical of Yoni, Wild Cobra and myself are just not used
to people who don't mind telling it like it is. Hence, the crazy
le. Call me what you want, I am just a plain old conservative
who does long for simpler times. But you know that is allowed,
    still.
simpler times? when gays stayed in the closet and women remained barefoot and in the kitchen?

Oh, I forgot Wild Cobra (thanks Ray)...

Intelligent, malleable and informed. Not convinced he is right about everything in the world (to me, thats the most important aspect of a person. No one knows everything, no one has the answer for all things. People that act like they do are literally sociopaths). A true conservative. Maybe a bit far to the right, but not a bat NeoCon. I immensely enjoy reading his posts because they are quite different than me, and thats the only reason I post in this forum.
    Thank-you for the complement.

I'm actually more libertarian than you give me credit for. I think marijuana and a small select other natural drugs should be legalized. I think victimless crimes are one of the greatest infringements on our freedoms. I believe in our country as laid out by our forefathers and the cons ution. My primary conservative viewpoints are derived form believing in personal responsibility. Liberals tend to not give a about personal responsibility.

I thought that until he unveiled his "death penalty for all" plan.
My death pemalty idea I even indicated was my extreem solution to a problem. Have a better idea to solve one of societies worse problems?

Yeah, I seen that, too. Weird how some people are so convinced that ending human life is an accpetable practice for the most mundane things.
By no stretch of the imagination do I agree with the so-called "death penalty for all" proposition offered by Wild Cobra however, to suggest having your life completely trashed -- sometimes beyond repair by an iden y thief, burglar, or robber is anything but mundane.

There's a person in our extended family who was shot by a mugger and is now severly handicapped. This person went from being a professional making six figures to being dependent on 24 hour care for life and costing six figures a year (or more) -- a life that is going to be much shorter, due to the injuries, than it would have been had they not been assaulted.

I certainly think the death penalty could be extended beyond just murder under certain cir stances. This two strikes and your toast law on child molestation or sexual assault, just signed by Governor Perry, is a good start.

Please don't forget, I specified first degree crimes. I simply don't believe people who will plan and cause the suffering of others need to exist. They are a waste of flesh.

    Gtown,
I remember when gtown first showed up. He was an absolute asshole. Believe it or not, he has seriously toned his act down. Because honestly, unlike some members here, I like hearing other opinions from people who think quite differently from me.
Gtown hasnt been on as much lately, but if you cut thru his , he sometimes is actually entertaining and interesting.

    Yoni,
I seriously think Yoni might be Cheney. No one could be so self-assured in every opinion, every action and every decision that someone else in the world makes. I dont have the confidence in my own family that he has in the Bush Administration. Hes quite convinced that not only is he right(eous), but that his ideas are so damn brilliant and sound that he would skirt every aspect of the Bill of Rights to further his ideals.

In comparison, have you ever noticed that the really, REALLY whacko serial killers of our time defend themselves in court when theyre (inevitably) tried for their crimes? Its because these sick individuals have so convinced themselves that theyre so much smarter than everyone in the world that there isnt a chance in they could lose in a battle of wits and evidence. Its called "sociopathic". Gravely convinced of one's own greatness. Thats Yoni, only subs ute "murderer" for "politician". I am not sure which one is worse, though....

    Clandestino,
Of the limited exposure I have, hes in the Vashner category. Blind party loyalty without the moxy or intelligence of Yoni. A follower.

    Xray,
I picture a mountainous region where he lives on high, looking down upon a world gone astray. Open sexuality, dissent upon government, etc. A far cry from his day when there were Commies and Reds, or in other words, a defined enemy thats all black and white. Times change unabated, but humans by nature resist it. Some more than others. Thus, Ray.

    ...................................Other side.......................................

    NBADan,
I'm labeled here as a bleeding liberal. My grandfather thinks of me this way as well. What he doesnt realize is that when I get into a debate with a REAL bleeding-heart liberal, they think Im some kind of right-wing NeoCon. So, really I dont win. I met some hippy the other day, he actually was a friend of a friend, and we all partied to the weeee-hours of the morning. He was a raging liberal. Attended war rallies in DC, protested against the gay marriage ban in Lansing, etc. An activist. The whole time talking to him (he was well spoken and intelligent, just too convinced he was right...a common theme among political lackeys), I could think of no one else but Dan.

    Boutons,
Total trip. So seething pissed-off with everything that even remotely resembles an elephant, he probably has an entire dinnerware set of Ivory. Intelligent but belligerent. Slice off the vitriol and youd have one of a politician.
You and extra stout are definitely my favorite posters on these boards, always enjoy your takes..... even though extra stout is quick to turn his amazing cynicism and sarcasm on anyone and has certainly offended me before, i respect the even headedness and intelligence both of you bring to discussions

i would say you both fall in the moderate camp.

I'm not sure where i would evaluate myself in the greater context of this form's ideologues, but im certainly pretty far left of the yonivore xray camp

Agreed. Mundane was a terrible word to use.

There's a person in our extended family who was shot by a mugger and is now severly handicapped. Shot by a mugger? Did your family member not comply as ordered or did he John Wayne it?

Either way, horrible tragedy. Hope the s bag rots in jail for a long time.

Ah, now that I agree with. Im not so sure it should take 3 strikes though. I dont understand this American infatuation with baseball. Life isnt baseball. I believe the true standard should be "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

    Thank-you for the complement.
No problem, man. I dont post in a Spurstalk political forum to win hearts and minds or better the world. I do it solely for selfish reasons, in order of importance:

    1) Meet other people with an actual opinion. I dont know if you all share the same disdain I have for people without an opinion. So wrapped in who Tom Cruise is banging this year, they wouldnt know who Vladamir Putin is if they seen him in a picture under the Russian flag. Or Kim Jong Il, Chirac, etc (sorry for any misspellings). And these people seem to outnumber people with an opinion on a 10:1 basis. My perfect example...The Club. Mind you, I post there often as well...but exclusively?! Whatever....

    2) Ingest all opinions, most importantly the ones you do not agree with. If everyone in the world thought the same, entertainment would be an undiscovered word in any language. Along with words like 'struggle', 'perseverance' and 'accomplishment' to name a few. Maybe most importantly, 'hero'. The world is a big place. I readily admit my faults and laugh at myself quite often.

    3) Laugh incredibly hard at all manner of things. This is entertainment. Unless one of some of us were actual "movers and shakers" then so be it. Otherwise, I view everyone here as a normal person with normal wants and needs. Everyone has flaws and some are much more humorous than others. I live by one motto, "If you cant laugh at yourself, youre not allowed to laugh at anyone else."

Otherwise, this board is great. I cant believe a -shack town like San Antonio with a small market franchise like the Spurs has a forum as active and different as this. I came in 2005 to talk some when the Pistons played the Spurs in the Finals. Turns out, of my 3k+ posts, less than 500 probably have anything to do with basketball.

She wasn't given a chance. Shot as the mugger was grabbing her purse.

I dont blame you. Honestly, prison is sometimes worse than death. I know some ex-cons that did time for violent crime. The stories are life-changing to say the least. If hes a fragile dude, trust me when I say, he is getting his.

DR, San Antonio is really not a SS as you describe and
of course the Spurs has proven themselves as a great
team and unlike most of the NBA they stay out of
jail, don't shoot people, cause riots or otherwise act like
a bunch of hooligans. In other words they act like what
they should be upstanding citizens who set an example
    for the youngen's to follow.

As for the rest of your statement. I agree 100 percent.
We, here on this forum, are not movers and shakers but
we all have opinions and fully express them daily.

Which I happen to like. I have the satisfaction of knowing
something of a full life and many, a figure of speech,
years here on this earth. Been there, done that is not
a figure of speech, but a reality, and hopefully all of
you will experience the same. Some of you may have
already. One thing I have learned, literally, is that the
older and more experienced you get you get much
more conservative you become. I think it is because
you learn the lessons of life. You must earn what you
get in your life. Nothing is free. Government provides
nothing without taking something from someone else.
They call it taxes. If you as an individual did what
government did you would go to prison. Don't believe
me. Take someones money without their consent and give it to a poor person and see what happens. That isn't
    what government was created for.

    Those damn blacks again....always conspiring....
It's just not just the blacks, it's women bloggers too!
Novak: Women’s ‘venom’ toward Bush is ’so vicious.’Appearing on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show yesterday, conservative pundit Robert Novak claimed that “women, particularly,” are making our current political discourse more “vicious”:

Hugh Hewitt: “The political dialogue, public and private, becomes more rancorous. The dissenters, particularly the Negro, poor and the war protesters turn to direct action, and most uncivil disobedience. What this adds up to is nothing less than a rejection of conventional forms of political action.” It goes on. Do you see the same thing playing out again now, Robert Novak?

Novak: I hate to say it, but I think the hatred toward George W. Bush is just mad. I listen to, sometimes in the car radio, on talk shows, and the venom that comes out of the mouths of some of these women, particularly, I’m not trying to be sexist, but they’re so vicious toward him. And I don’t think that really contributes. And also, the bloggers, I don’t read the bloggers very much, but it is really, it’s really vicious.

I'm sorry, should I apologize for coming into a political forum and expecting more than childish name calling? I don't think that is acting above it all, just expecting adults to not act like middle school students. There are too many intellegent people in here for this forum to behave as such.
