Learn something about football? You predicted a&m to score 62 points...
Appalachian State could probably win the Sun Belt. I saw that 17 of 22 starters were D-1 (or FBS) transfers and they returned 8 I-AA All Americans.
That was quite possibly the worse game I've ever had the pleasure to watch regarding Texas playing in it's first game of any season in the past 10 years. It was worse than the UNT game back in 2002 and that's saying something. in pathetic display of football. Undisciplined KILLEBREW and unmotivated. We was outgained by the IN INDIANS and they nearly had 400 in yards to do so.
I will be interested to see what will happen in the TCU game next season. Play like that and they get blown out of the stadium in Austin. Maybe I need to calm down and wait until Monday.
app. state is a very very good team, they would be more than compe ive in I-A.
Captain Obvious!
Underneath the bottom line is what you work on until next week's bottom line comes right? Well, 21-13, means Texas has a lot of to work on since I can remember in a while in my 22 years.
Bottom line that!![]()
Thank God that game is over with. All I had was gamecast and radio, but giving up 400 yards to Arkansas State in a 21-13 W doesn't qualify as a good start to the season.
Not to dismiss a good little minor D-1 program in the Indians, but TCU is going to come into town ready to eat lightning and crap thunder next week on the heels of this.
No sir you just particularly dismiss ASU because they are inconsistent and irrelevant on a scale of talent therefor you backfire a close Texas game as some kind of substance? Does that mean Texas would have lost to App State? Or Michigan is just highly overrated perhaps? This isn't the nineties I know, and teams shouldn't be scaled so high (like ND), but I don't understand your point.
Troy would have beat App. State handily.
Troy wouldn't have won the last two I-AA les either.
And this is exactly why JFB doesn't play ASU, for this reason Horn fans... it almost got real, real, reeal ugly.
Arkansas just won't chance it I suppose. But JFB is gone Jan. 1.. so that can change..
no kidding, app. state is much better than ark. state.
I'm not going to even pretend that Arkansas St. should have been in this game. That was a pathetic performance. Vince's magical mystery tour '05 team would have won by 60, even last years team would have won by 30.
I'm hoping that it was just a case of a young team overlooking an inferior opponent. If not, this is going to quickly become a season of revenge for okie, okie st, ttech, and nebraska. It was a good ride, but all of VY's mystery tour '05 guys are gone, and now we no longer have the playmakers to overcome the worst offensive coordinator in college football and one of the worst overall coaching staffs among the elite of D1. That said, we should still beat the stiffs at am.
There is a world of difference between #1 and #22, in AA. Do you even follow 1AA(formerly) or are you talking out your ass because of one upset? You consistently sound like an idiot, so perhaps you should learn about football.
You didn't even watch the ing game. Are you a ten year old boy watching ESPN all day. Yeah, it is impressive to win at Michigan. Yes they are a quality team, but did you know a single guy on their roster before today? Do you now? Do you know what kind of offense they run? One game doesn't mean they would win the Big 10. Who the even listens to you? I need a vomiting emoticon.
its just one game, but it was interesting. obviously t.u. is better than a 21-13 win of ark. state...but, as i said earlier, they are not the #4 team in the country. but, we'll see...
Yeah, it's sort of a curse of mine that I can't just ignore idiocy. It's not like anything will sink in anyway.
you're like mr. dio.
The most interesting thing I heard today was that the only other time a top 25 D1 team lost to a lower division opponent was #20 Baylor losing to Lamar in 1980.
Now, I could accept this a little easier since we're talking about Baylor, but this should show every one of you the reasoning behind why most power programs play weak out-of-conference games. Or why they puss out and buy their way out of contracts with good programs.
How you UT fans feeling about that Oct 6 game after today... heh heh...
I'll wait until after TCU, and I actually get to watch them play before I start worrying about OU. Doesn't look too good right now.
Ok...its still a win. An ugly one, but a win nonetheless. Now that doesn't mean that Texas doesn't have a ton of work to do though and I never said that they didn't but the only thing that matters in football is winning. So yes, I still believe that the victory, not the margin of, is what is the most important thing. I would rather my team look like and win than look great and lose.Captain Obvious!

Just a personal opinion, not a suggested course of action.
I do agree with Beer though...if the Horns continue with this kind of effort, it could be a rough season.
There won't be any national championship contention for UT this season, but I still think they can get to a BSC bowl by winning the Big XII. OK looked good, but against a far worse opponent than UT played. It'll be a toss up as to who wins the conference, but UT and OK are neck and neck in talent and McCoy has shown he can beat OU. The freshman kid at OU hasn't seen that zoo yet.
what about A&M?
