Back to basketball, Greece never got the respect it deserves. Back in 87 when Greece won the Euro, beating the great Yugoslavian (twice in the tournament) and USSR teams, it was just plain luck. Two years ago they won the Euro again crashing Dirk's Gemany, they lucked out again. And looking how compe ive Greek NTs faired against US NTs throughout the last 2 decades, those Greeks plain suck.
As for the Euroleague, Panathinaikos is the golden standard during the last decade.
Greece is no favorite to repeat in this year's Euro.
