I know everyone loves to dog pile on but everyone is going off BS.

Word is Ankiel is gonna categorically deny this

and its already been said through his agent that hes not connected with the pharmacy, hes never bought anything, nothing at all to do with it.

Scott Boros is many things but stupid is not one of them. I don't see any way he'd categorically deny that Rick Ankiel obtained or used HGH unless he could prove it. He'd damage his reputation and his clients' reputations and the man loves $$$ way too much to do that.
That's a reach. Boras makes people money and his job is to stand by his clients. Standing by a man - guilty or innocent - will not damage his rep around the players in the league.

Of course he's going to say that. He's his ing agent. Agents mouth they can't prove all the time. Keep spinning, maybe you'll convince yourself that the toothfairy exists. Implying that agents don't lie...Jesus Christ.

T Park making excuses for a Cardinal isn't exactly news. Overly dramatic? It looks like he got busted which ruins a great feel good story.

ankiel is going to categorically deny this? well...i believe him. no guilty players have ever denied using said substances.

at least Oriole fans didn't try to pretend that Raffy was telling the truth about a phantom B12 shot when he was suspended. We may not be as devout as Giant fans or (SOME) Cardinal fans - but certainly less gullible.

This definitely sucks, I was rooting hard for Ankiel. If this is true, I'm not exactly a fan anymore.

alright, so he claims that anything he took was under a doctor's care (as if finding a crooked doctor makes it okay...), but he won't confirm or deny taking HGH because of doctor/patient privilege - a privilege in which only the doctor need legally keep quiet, Ankiel can spill it at any point that he wants.

sounds to me like he knows it was wrong. when's the last time anybody was afraid to admit that their doctor gave them an anti-biotic? or that they had been prescribed a painkiller for post-surgery?

no, spin it any way you want to cardinal fans, but those were the answers of a shamed and guilty man.

So you will tell everyone your medical history? I really doubt that. But does it matter?
If you still think that your favorite athlete does not use some sort of Performance enhaning product you have your head in the sand. Todays Athletes make to much money to take the chance that their bodys will not recover fast enough to be able to perform on the field.

So you will tell everyone your medical history?.
If anybody asked me if I took arythmariyisin (definitely spelled that wrong) when my leg got infected, I'd tell them 'yes i did.' There's no shame in that.

Nobody's asking for his - or his family's - entire medical history. They're asking about one specific medication...that does have legitimate uses (although likely not for an adult baseball player). If he was taking it for legitimate reasons under a legitimate doctor's care - then there is no shame or reason to not confirm its use.

Did anyone hear him say this? Was it a public session or closed door one? Even if closed are any of the reporters attaching their names to this? ESPN just says "associated press". Everyone from media to BoreAss to MLP to MLBPA is soo nuttless when it comes to admitting.

"Ankiel, whose comeback is one of the great stories of this season, initially acknowledged human growth hormone was among those medications during a brief session with reporters Friday, then refused to list his various prescriptions."

Undoubtedly. If this report was about a non-Cardinal, TPark would be leading the lynching mob, screaming about the sanc y of the game or the need for players to abide the laws of the game and the land at the same time. It's Rick Ankiel, though, so: (1) it's an immediately questionable story; and (2) it's a non-story anyway because HGH doesn't really have any meaningful effect on this player.

You forgot (3) According to TPark, Ankiel was not noticeably bigger.

Is HGH steroids? I recall a couple of years ago they were advertising HGH on the radio.
