That very well may be the case, especially with all the injuries on defense.
But they play the Lions this week, who are always, and I mean always, a cure-all for ailing teams.
See week 3 for reference.

I'm not sure why they don't start Kyle Orton.
He's definitely worse than Rex. Guy completed just 51% of his passes and average just a little over 100 yards per game in total passing which is absolutely pathetic. Dude also had 18 turnovers to 9 tds. He was one of the worst I have ever seen.
But his team would actually rally behind him. Griese is a pile of and his teammates won't play for him.

they need more at the QB position. Rex actually played decent in the playoffs last year. Griese might just be barely good enough for Chicago to do well.
Somebody didn't watch the Super Bowl.
Is the Super Bowl part of the playoffs?
I'd say no. It's the Super Bowl.
no I did, but I watched more than just that. Playoffs consist of more than just one game. Against the Saints and Seattle, Rex played pretty well. Also, in the Superbowl he was sharp throwing intermediate routes, but for some reason the OC for Chicago decided to go deep and Rex botched most of those passes.
I'm not defending Rex, because the guy has lost confidence and needs to sit. However, to say Kyle Orton who's one of the worst QB to ever play the game is better is a joke. BTW, the team never rallied behind Kyle, they knew they had no other options and couldn't wait for Rex to get healthy to send Kyle down to 3rd string where he barely belongs.
Griese is a stop gap, but Chicago has some major issues and it's not only at the QB position. They certainly need a premium RB and more help in the secondary.
The playoffs are all post-season,non-exhibition games. The Super Bowl, while an event unto itself, still counts as part of the playoffs.
Yeah I remember one time I got stuck working on Super Sunday because a coworker got sick, and go figure I get sick too and can't get anyone to cover for me since it was the Super Bowl.![]()
