Embarrassingly enough, I didn't notice it was gone until Kori told me. I must have that song on my ignore list.
haha, there's the Beno comment.... still waiting on the Stan Kelly one
I guess the beauty of it all is that only when you're winning championships do you have time to complain about things like the theme song, the last man off the bench, and the PA announcer... lol... gotta love it

Where's that damn video of me talking to Pop about it?
He said on a scale of 1-10, how much he was tired of that song was an 11.
Im the same way.Embarrassingly enough, I didn't notice it was gone until Kori told me. I must have that song on my ignore list.
I never understand what was the big friggen deal about ing about it.
Im suprised someone that was there tonight doesn't know the new song.
I wouldn't be suprised to see McDonald make a reference to it.

Even Pop's on board with changing the song. I wonder if he had anything to do with it...
as much as i wanted it gone, it sure did get the crowd going.
The Spurs coming out onto the floor accompanied by anything loud and vaguely optimistic will get me pumped. But "Y'all Ready For This" has been playing for the Spurs since the mid nineties. It's time for the team to get a little younger.
Oh my gosh- you're right. I didn't even notice. I was just so happy to have the team back.![]()
Well, it's only fitting. That song was a serious AJ vehicle when he was with the Spurs, and now that they're retiring his number, they should retire the song as well. Actually, they should have done it when he left in 2001.
Now can we get rid of playing the chorus to "We Are the Champions" in a 10-minute loop when the deciding Spurs victory in the NBA Finals is played in SA. That's a hundred times worse (and more embarrassing).
i love how people want to make it younger then throw out AC/DC or ASIA...
Cause they were overrated by your generation bud. Sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo crap now.
We'll replace it with some cheesy rap song I'm sure. But anything is better as long as it's not old school bullcrap.

How is that embarassing.
We are the champions is fantastic when you win the ring.
Everyone plays it, and everyone sings along with it. Come on, lighten up.
It's embarrassing when its played in an endless loop for 10+ minutes. One time through is fine. 25 times in a row is a beating.
It's also highly unoriginal to begin with.
Dude, everyone in every sport plays that song when they win. Do you also want to eliminate a trophy ceremony since other sports do that, too, and it's "unoriginal"?
I dunno, I personally like it when We are the champions is played.
That means uh, were raising a golden trophy. Play that SO on an endless loop cause ill be celebrating too damn much to care![]()
No, everyone in every sport does NOT play that song. But amongst those who do, NONE of them play it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over for 10+ minutes. Like I said, one time through is acceptable.....highly unoriginal and tired, but acceptable. Anything more is nails on a chalkboard.
What Did They Replace It With.
Some random song with a lady singing "Get your arms up!" or something like that. I wish I could give you more details, but I was in too much shock.
I'm supers ious...
all that noise. Queen never gets old.
Queen, that is a subject you know very well.
