I'm gonna see it today.
It was good, not as good as I thought it was gonna be, but good. Two of my favorite actors.
The movie I really liked was "We Own the Night" with Mark Whalberg and Joaquin Pheonix. I also Liked "The Assasination of Jesse James" with Brad Pitt.
i saw the movie last night, it was in awesome
the movie was pretty good, im glad denzel got the chance to play a character like he did in training day again. i didnt really like russel crowe having such a big part in the movie, his character wasnt very interesting. i didnt know the movie was so hyped up but i thought it was at least 8/10. i recommend seeing it.
it was pretty good but could have been alot better with a halfway competent editor. Cut about 30 minutes from that movie and it would have been perfect. And there was enough useless fluff to make that happen.
I didn't care too much for Crow's character either but the movie was still solid. I wondered how they were going to wrap it all up, it was pretty long and then the end seemed cut short.
Yeah they could have cut a good amount out and added more to the ending.Cut about 30 minutes from that movie and it would have been perfect.
We Own the Night was better, imo.
This movie is a disgrace. Glorifying a man who poisoned his people and who played a big part in the destruction of Harlem from once a well to do affluent Black neighborhood to what it is today. Frank Lucas.
How is it glorifying him?
how's all nude eve mendez in we own the night!?
I would call making a movie about this mother er glorifying him.
great f'n movie loved the whole thing couldnt complain about a second of it
If you say so.
Batman > You.
not all nude, but hot
If it's good enough for batman it's good enough for me. batman's got street cred.
Saw it over the weekend. I agree that the ending seemed too rushed. Wait, all of a sudden, Crowe's the prosecuting attorney too, and then at the end he becomes his defense lawyer? I know those things are based on fact, but just throwing it in there as an epilogue was lame.
Also, the one scene with Denzel and Crowe together didn't seem very real. Suddenly they become best buds yukking it up?
However, the rest of the movie up to the arrest was great.
Boring and posuer.
Washingtons "tough" act and personna just slightly less horrific as the usual "glorify the evil but powerful user-coward" schtick, ie *Tony Sopranos band of wimps, Michael Kornleowned etc. But in the end just as bad.
You know the schpeel (agree Spawn 100%), everyone is supposed to be in awe, they shoot someone and say "pass the salt please" and we are all supposed to ooh and ahh over their psypathicness.
Not as gagging as The Departed, still Manny and co should like this one.
*Sat Night Live had excellent parody of the Soapranos. Disappeared from YouTube but maybe its back.
