he really had so much potential though
Showing up to camp out of shape every year.
Worry more about partying than practicing.
Being appalled that the Spurs thought he needed to work on his shot.
Crapping on the organization all summer with his dumb interviews about how he's going to showcase himself this year for free agency next summer and how he deserves to start.
Sitting on his MySpace complaining about Pop not playing him.
He deserves whatever he's getting.
He's lazy and unmotivated.
he really had so much potential though
Yeah, he did. That's the reason why it sucks. He's actually very talented.
True
He said a lot of in the press
Good riddance
All of that said, Kori, I believe Beno's talent was very much overrated (lack of quickness might not be an at ude problem).
And his actual performance (while not great) was equally underrated.
Everbody needs an angle, an at ude -- and the accepted conventional wisdom here was, "Beno sucks."![]()
Could have fooled me. Every time I saw him he sucked.
But lack of talent/no desire - either way same result. He sucked and I'm surprised let him waive a Spurs towel for as long as he did.
Once in a lifetime opportunity and Beno blew it on post club tacos.
Yeah, Beno didn't really suck. He was great. One day his number will hang from the rafters.
Damn that sucks! he went from a ring ceremony to a ring being sent in the mail. Should send a camera crew and put it on jumbotron of him receiving his ring.
wowmixed emotions
I think it's about time for the Spurs to trade Beno. With all the countless pre-season/season injuries, it's kind of a joke already, and lesser minutes that he gets(& those were were mostly garbage time, he sometimes contributed TOs than assts anyway)
Whoa, the longest I saw him was when he paired w/ Wilks in that 2005 DVD championship video on Pop's game pointers. You thought he wasn't a Spur. He's almost invisible.
Good luck Beno!
yet he still has lots more $ than you.
hahahahaha, really??? what did he say??![]()
He said he sucked because Pop wouldn't play him...
Then a few weeks ago he cut a video interview complaining about his role and saying how someday he hopes to go to a team and start...
And with that, and the injury, and the lack of conditioning, and the lack of consistency or any improvement in his game, in 3 years...he was gone.
It also seems to be the conventional wisdom of both the Spurs and Wolves....and every team that refused to trade for him.
Dude...Beno got worse every year he was here...and then he started talking and blaming Pop for it, and dreaming of the day he could go elsewhere and play...
He deserves his scorn...
timvp and Kori were two of his biggest jockers on this board when he was a rookie...it's not like they wanted to see him fail.
And what's the relevance of that?
More money = better person

He got in an argument with MidgetonaDonkey and said something to the effect of "Pop didn't play me and I lost my confidence.. if you noticed, I played in the playoffs in 2005 and we won a le. I didn't play in 2006 and we didn't. I'm not saying I'm the reason we won in 2005 but ..."
True. I REALLY wanted Beno to succeed. I thought he'd be an awesome backup to Tony when he first arrived.
Ban Beno Kori!
Do ittttttttttttttt. For talking !
No, don't ban Beno.
This will be the Midge Meltdown all over again.
Tell Beno's mom to clean out his room and stock up on frozen burritos and snickers. He's gonna be there for a while.
"Beno Udrih - order number 14"
awesome
myspace blows and beno having a profile AND getting into arguments with strangers about his job is just another reason im glad beno is not a spur anymore
If you ask Midget, you can probably find the screen captures. He posted them at the time.
