Nah, his threads are just too fun, especially with him getting owned in the end. Kinda like his favorite team, the Suns... upbeat, fun, but always falls short due to a poor style that has never worked. Must be something about Phoenix, eh?
When I first saw that I was ROFLing so bad.

Which dvd version do you have? That one wasn't on the one I have. There's some funny deleted scenes I've seen on youtube, like when they're all in the car and Champ goes on and on about how gay he is and he comes out in the car to Ron and confesses his true feelings, and they all awkwardly try to ignore him and pretend he isn't there.
I have the unrated disc that came packaged with "Wake Up, Ron Burgundy" which is a completely different version of the movie made with stuff that was cut out of the first one. I think they said the original cut of Anchorman was like 4 hours long because they had so much great stuff to use.
Oh yeah, I've heard of WURB, it's like 40 minutes of extra footage and a bunch of subplots they couldn't use, like Amy Poehler as part of a radical ecoterrorist group or something.
I love the " waffle" deleted scene along with the scene where they go to confront some guy at his house, an old guy comes to the door and Ron starts insulting him with "i can't wait for you to go to prison where they'll go passing your candy ass around! you ing asshole! i'm sorry to use such filthy language but you make me sick! that's it, i'm going to punch you!" and they find out they went to the wrong house.
He really should've quit while he was ahead with Anchorman. Ron Burgundy was such a great character, but I though Talladeega Nights sucked balls mostly, and that ABA movie looks like more of the same. I did like that one he did with Horseface Gyllenhaal, Stranger than Fiction.
Speaking of closeted sports media personalities with a fondness for nose candy, where's Greggo? At least that's the scuttlebutt.
Talladega Nights definitely didn't live up to its hype but I still thought it was funny.
I was looking at those stats yesterday, and it illustrates what I've argued for a long time: Spurs hold teams to low PPG because they slow it way down and try to keep anything exciting from happening. Their D is good, but what really keeps their opponent PPG low is their slow ass pace.
Conversely, the Suns get unjustly labeled as a team that plays no D, just because they give up a bunch of points. Nevermind that they hold their opponents to about the same FG% & 3PT% as Spurs, nevermind that they rank in the top ten in blocks and steals (way above the Spurs, who are down around #17). Nevermind that their pace simply gives their opponents more shots per game to account for the extra points. Nevermind that the Suns are actually holding their opponents under 100 PPG. Some idiots in the media way back decided that the Suns don't play D, and everyone just assumes it to be true.
Is the cover on yours the one with the whole news team or just Ron at his desk without his pants?
Ron without pants.
When you play defense, your focus is the limit your opponents scoring chances and opportunities, and in turn, giving yourself the best chance possible to score. A slow pace contributes to this. It gives their opponents less scoring chances, forces them out of their rhythm, while in turn, helping the Spurs to score as efficiently as possible.
no they don't.
That has more to do with their pace and less to do with their defense. The Suns go so fast in the offense, that the other team tries to keep up on their side and rushes a shot or makes a bad play to get right back at them. Whether that's part of their strategy or not is another question.
Oh, and since when do blocks and steals = good defense? Marcus Camby is a blocking machine, but a poor defender.
Yeah, you're right. Blocks and steals don't have a ing thing to do with defense. Those are offensive statistics, right?
do you really not know?
Some of the least relevant defensive statistics. You'd be better off finding an "assists prevented" statistic.
So you're saying you don't believe blocks & steals are even valid stats. Ok. Have it your way. I'm not going to bother arguing with someone who doesn't even accept the validity of steals & blocks.
I was making joke - sorry to pick on you, but you were the first I thought of and I know you like ragging on DSF.
However, it is spelled non-sequitor... "Non-Sequitur" is a comic strip.
First off, the season is 10 games old, and the two teams have different set of opponents, so comparing them at this point is comparing apples to oranges. The only way to really weigh how effective a defense is is throughout the whole season.

In 2007, the Spurs were #4 in FG% allowed and #2 in 3pt% allowed, while the Suns were ranked 14 and 22.
The Spurs also scored 98.5 ppg and allowed 90.1 ppg, translating to a 8.4 ppg differential, while the Suns scored 110.2 and allowed 102.9 for a 7.3 ppg differential, despite a faster pace.
The Spurs also had more blocks and steals.
If you want to talk about this season, perhaps we could wait till the end of the year, because as of today, Kevin Martin is second in the league in scoring, and Rajon Rodon is #4 in FG%, I don't expect these to carry on throughout the year.
That's good, because I shouldn't even have bothered arguing with someone who thinks steals and blocks are deciding stats for determining how well someone plays defense.
Bruce Bowen sucks at both and he is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.
You're telling me Larry Hughes is a great defensive player?
I thought it wasn't funny at all.
And I know funny.
Are you implying that Hill was injured by the pace, or something far more disturbing?
