That's why I'm saying that you have to look at the whole picture,sometimes Manu does more for the spurs in 30 mpg tham any other player on any NBA time playing a whole bunch of minutes.

and that's why manu is so special... but i'm not arguing about manu's production here... i just say that i don't like the logic of these stats...
what's important is what you produce on a court, not what you COULD produce if you played more minutes...

PER is actually a coeficient that comes from the analizis of all those numbers,Not just PPG

PER is the closest thing we have to quantify and qualify the overall performance of a player (even with its flaws, etc). At least it's much better than just PPG, RPG, and APG.
