Growing up, my mom and I always waited to get the tree until about the 21st or 22nd and then we kept it up until closer to the 10th of January. Probably a lot of why we ended up with the funky looking trees.

You guys do have some pretty trees. I don't do xmas trees for several reasons but I enjoy looking at others.
I think that's a really good time frame. I'd love to do it like that but the kids just get so anxious!
Well generally people do start to put up Christmas things the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Ours are up. I'll get SFIE to take pics. The downstairs tree has to be up on the end table to keep it out of the dog's reach, so you'll get to see the hideous blinds we have yet to replace on the upper windows (sad thing is that we have the blinds. . .). The tree in the bedroom is pretty though less sentimental.
The better pic would be of the garlands we put up (fireplace and living room) -- doofuses that we are, we did it backwards, so we've got a charming cord hanging down the wall at one point.
I love my tree, I've had it up since before Thanksgiving, because of our full houseod company. I've been collecting old ornaments for the past 20 years. I keep miraculously find sweet deals al thrift stores or flea markets each year. Will try to post a picture before Christmas
Here is ours. Looks better when lit. Ain't much but my kids love it and that is all that matters to me.
not if you're in the Phillippines! people there start they're Christmas decorations as early as november.
Growing up, we always put our tree up on my mom's birthday....December 12th. But since I had kids of my own, I generally put the tree up between Thanksgiving and the first week of December.

My boyfriend doesn't have kids, so I think he's excited about having my kids around to decorate for this year. He bought my daughter her own tree for her room and she absolutely loves it!

Nice SW, Your daughter must be thrilled. Congrats on the blending of your family. I still need to decorate my mantel with my Santa collection, and put up my Christmas snow globes, but don't feel like putting up my nativities this year

WoW nice tree, Save me time, I will print this out and put it on my wall. All my gifts will go under it and we will have dinner by it. When Santa comes to drop off gifts and says WTF!! I will walk in and say listen fat man it makes ME Happy.
Come Xmas day and the family comes over they will be like WTF!!! and when I pull in a extra table and 3 chairs where the other tree would have been they will be in aww and be Happy.
As a final touch I will put color changing LED key chain behind the picture and I will be Happy.

That is so sweet! My kids are always asking for their own little tree & like a Grinch the only thing that goes thru my mind is "Oh great! Something else for me to clean!"Me too

No tree up yet but her is my daughter small battery operated one.
