It would have sucked, but the mavs have to feel terrible not being able to beat the Spurs minus Duncan.

I was so pleased with the Spurs grit and determination last night that I think I could have accepted the loss. I don't think the game means much in the grand scheme of things -- other than it's role in pushing the Mavs to 4 back in the division and maintaining the Spurs chance to earn (or at least not lose) the first tiebreaker with the Mavs. But I do think that there might have been a hangover through to Friday if Dirk's shot goes down. Manu played extremely well, but he also played a lot of minutes against the Mavs and I wonder if Pop will scale him back some against Utah. It's much easier to justfiy scaling back Manu's minutes on Friday having gotten a win over the Mavs on Wednesday.

I got worried there for a second.

I would have been beyond mad because I abhor Dallas and there was no way we were losing our perfect at home record to the Mavericks.
No way!

I yelled " Noooooooo!" when Dirk shot and I think I closed my eyes for a bit.
But I was never super worried at any point of the game ( granted there were parts that I did not like.)


But through it all, I anticipated good things happening because I I knew, knew, knew that was our win last night.
( Thankfully, I was right. )

Had the shot gone down we would have deserved to lose the game. we did our best to give this game away with stupid passes and bad shots in the last 2 minutes of the game. manu almost made the bonehead play of the night when he left dirk all alone on the 3 point line. of all people dirk is not the one you leave.... i am still frustrated with the boneheaded possessions we seem to have when we play the Mavs...EVERY ING GAME against these guys we have the Micheal Finley type bad pass, or we piss away opportunites to increase our lead with a horrible pass or a forced shot in the last 30 seconds of a game.
