We like to keep our players healthy and not go head-hunting. I guess some teams need to rely on the latter these days.
I didn't see anything worth a suspension. Its true that Diop practically smacked Manu, but like that happens in a physical game. I say let it go. Besides, they've already lost 2 games in a row, I'm sure they're feeling like about it.

The great thing about the Mavs is that although they're dirty as and unbelievably hatable, they're also complete choke artists, so at end of the day you get the satisfaction of watching these classless assholes totally implode.
So different from the Laker years when you had to watch in pain as those guys actually won something.
The DIRTY play is the one no one even mentions...
That was when Elson got called for the foul on Terry when Terry was leading with his foot trying to kick him in the nuts...
That was the dirtiest play Terry had all night... It was right in front of me.
Terry got kicked in the nuts accidentally by Manu early in the game and kind of hovered around him for like 30 seconds talking... Manu walked up to the ref to tell him what was going on...
I looked at the person next to me and said "Terry is going to try and hurt Ginobili this game"...
Right after halftime... He throws manu to the floor.
Howard's punch while dunking was the most violent one of the three he had
I agree. The coaching staff had to have told their team to foul hard when the opposing team was driving hard to the basket. After the initial foul if Terry was actually losing his cool Avery would have pulled him don't ya think? Yet even after the 2nd hard foul he wasn't told a thing by the staff. I myself don't mind the team getting fouled hard. After all, i didn't say a thing when Horry fouled Nash last year. that was definately a planned hard foul meant 2 say something 2 the Suns. This rivalry is great and i for 1 can't wait til the next game.
Howard gave a hard foul and so did Diop, but you could argue that they were making a play for the ball, didnt look like it but you could argue it. Manu was going hard at the basket so they received him hard too, thats basketball. However i think that the Terry after the foul foot grab was the most dangerous and the one that awards a fine. Its one thing smacking a guy or throwing your body at him its a whole nother thing when you grab the guy's foot mid air and pull forward. That is dangerous.
2:30 MARK
TERRY IS TRYING TO MAKE A WISH WITH MANU'S LEGS
Anyone see Jason Terry kicking Cisco in the nuts on one of his drives to the basket?
Dirty play? how do you think you made it to the finals last year?
Spot ing on.![]()
And I don't have a problem with people shooting at me as long as they miss.
Holy . That's absolutely a suspension.
Question:
Would it be best all-around for the Spurs to fight that little thug out on the court, like back in the '80's?.![]()
By getting past the first round.
that's what batman used to say...
It reminded me the hard fouls on Manu vs the Nuggets in the 05 playoffs.
And those fouls in 05 were all intentionally hard and the coach gave the order to do so.
I don't see how we can complain about contact when Gino and TP are the ones creating the contact every time, if you are going to consistently jump into defender and flop to the ground, expect some hard fouls here and there.
to our guys's credit though, at least they make the baskets, unlike a certain Miami player who just tosses the ball up and goes to the line for 2, the most disgusting way to score points in basketball.![]()
I don't care how much a player is flaming you. You can't resort to kick him in the nuts and try hurting him for real. Players should be more careful. If they find out he actually did it in purpose he should be exampled accordingly - a several games suspension or something lke that so they don't do it again. Sorry I come across real hard but that's not the way.
It's quite different.
The goal of someone who shoot at you is to injure/kill you.
The goal of Mavs players when they do hard fouls on Manu isn't to injure him but to send him the message "don't come in the paint".
Now, when a team do hard fouls on Spurs players, it's a good thing for Spurs as long as they have no injuries :
- Spurs team is tough enough to continue to play the same way. Manu won't stop driving to the basket because of a hard foul.
- The opposite team is more focused on doing fouls than playing defense.
- It has good consequences for Spurs : Free throws, technical fouls and suspensions.
Only support them, when they play against Mavs![]()
i agree with bruno, but think that the two fouls terry did to manu in mid air arent hard fouls, they are cheap shots. i understand he is trying to prevent a continuation, but you do that by hugging the guy, not tugging on his limbs in mid air- that is an injury waiting to happen.
I think this definitely deserves a fine/flagrant or suspension for Terry, I had started a thread earlier about this specific foul. I mean Terry grabbed Manu's arm AFTER the foul was already called...that was definitely intentional and dangerous...Manu fell pretty hard to the floor...I can't believe all Terry got was one technical for that...There could have been a serious injury there...
I think there is a thin line between physical stuff and dangerous/unnecessary/on purpose stuff.
And as for Pop, I get that you don't want to whine, etc...that's the Spurs have class...but it's a whole other thing when a player is in danger...The NBA needs to investigate this especially...
it's a guy that sings crappy music.
