Tell you what... you let manu shoot 800 times a game and see how many times he scores.
I'm not talking about manu's scoring... I'm talking about his will to win.
Would you take AI over manu?
Dudes...Gervin is like the third most dominant scorer in NBA history...that's not just...he was pretty good at scoring...that's...he's after Wilt and Jordan...and no one else.
Manu scoring back to back 37 is a big deal?
Ice once averaged 33 point per game for a season...was a great rebounder...the dude averaged over a steal and block per game for 4 or 5 years in a row, that's a 2 guard doing that...he'd get triple teamed every game. He shot over 50% for his career.
I just don't think you guys really understand what you are saying when you leave him off the team...it's like the LakerFans leaving Magic Johnson off the all time Laker Team. A grave error.
33ppg...for a season. You think about that for a second.....

Tell you what....you let me know when Manu shoots over 50% for a season averaging 15 PPG with Tim Duncan on his team...
Much less doing it over his career averaging 26 PPG without Tim Duncan.
Ice shot over 50% for his career...do you understand what that means?
I'd have to think about whether or not I take AI over Manu...I wouldn't have to think one second about taking him over Gervin. Not a ing chance...I'm not talking about manu's scoring... I'm talking about his will to win.
Would you take AI over manu?
And I hate to tell you this...but Gervin was a franchise 2 guard, and the Spurs won with him as their franchise player.
Agreed. I love Sean, and he'll always be one of my favorite Spurs, but he was NOT a big game player. I'm not even sure if he sits on the bench on my all Spurs team.
And I also agree about Gervin. I never got to see him play, but his stats alone are staggering. EDIT: I still might take Manu over Gervin though.

PG Si
SG Manu
SF Ice (hey he started out there)
PF Tim
C Five O
Bench - Tony, Sean, Bowen, A-Train, Kenon
C: David Robinson
PF: Tim Duncan
SF: Sean Elliott
SG: George Gervin
PG: Jame Silas
Sixth Man: Manu Ginobili
Period.
Spurs go all the way!!!
Missing out one of the 50 greatest players ever from your starting lineup is criminal.
PG: Parker (Based on his play now, championships and potential to get better) with Silas as a backup
SG: Manu with Bruce as a backup (He usually guards this position anyway, and this way Sean plays his natural position)
SF: Ice (Absolute no brainer - theres a reason hes so revered) with Sean as Backup
PF: Timmy
C: D-Rob
The thought of Ice and Parker on the break together should make Gervin's inclusion even more of a no-brainer.
Dave

Ice
Manu

I want to stick Bowen in there but after last season, TP beats him out.
Robinson
Duncan
Manu
Ice
All no brainers.
PG is the one tuffie. Silas prolly would be my first choice now that I think of it. Parker backing him up.
Duncan PF
Robinson C
Gerbin SG
Parker PG
Ginobili SF
I agree with your ranking althought i would put the Bulls 4th tied with the Spurs
Elliott may not be in the starting 5, but he still made the most CLUTCH shot ever in Spurs History!
Ginobili
Parker
Gervin
Duncan
Robinson
Bench:
Moore, Silas, Elliott, Kenon, Gilmore, mings, Robertson, Nater
Nice.
I would have put Kareem on the bench and started West and moved Boston to #2. Just my .02
Still, a great list.![]()

I think it shocks some people that there was actually Spur basketball prior to 1990.
Wow....that's a pretty good Spur's team...but as most have already said...the Lakers top 5 trumps all.

How old are you guys? Did you ever even watch the Bulls prior to this decade?
Charles Oakley is on the Bulls All-Time team?
He must have made quite an impression during the 16 games he started as a Bull over three seasons:
http://www.nba.com/playerfile/charle...eer_stats.html
I didn't even know he ever was a Bull, but I can see why he deserves the spot over Horace Grant or Artis Gilmore.
Ron Harper is the second greatest guard to ever wear a Bulls uniform?
Are you kidding me?
Reggie Theus anyone? Jerry Sloan?
btw - ESPN recently did an "All-time" bracket to see who had the greatest "All-Time" team....the Bulls lost only to the Lakers:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/features/nbaLineup
Strangely enough, ESPN's version of the Bull's all time greatest roster included ten players, none of which were Ron Harper or Charles Oakley.
yep but unlike the lakers (or any other franchise), our All time starting 5 is not History at all since 3 of them currently play for the Spurs
Funny that Latrell Sprewell made the Knicks all time team and BOB MCADOO didn't.
Go figure. I guess MVPs don't comapre to Sprewell's accomplishments (did he marry a tv star as well)?
Parker doesn't belong on the Spurs all time team.
If he does, thats not saying much for the Spurs.
It's an indefensible position, to me, to argue that Gervin wouldn't be the no-brainer choice to play one of the wing positions on that team. You can argue about whether the other wing should be Manu or Elliott or perhaps Kenon or Bowen, but there's no doubt that one of those spots goes to Ice.
