aft lookin at how Manu played when Duncan and Parker were out, I'm pretty convinced Manu can't be Spurs' MVP long term. He is seriously the best streaky player around the league, pretty much because he doesn't have the stamina to keep the intensity up all the time. Unlike Parker and Duncan, not that we don't miss Manu but he isn't the all season MVP.

The Spurs weren't exactly setting the world ablaze when Duncan and Parker missed playing time. Plus, any bench is going to look like crap if you take away the two best players.

One can argue that Manu is the best player on the team but pointing at how the team plays without him isn't going to win the argument.

    Without Vaughn - 7-1
    Without Ginobili - 4-2
    Without Barry - 3-2
    Without Duncan - 2-2
    Without Elson - 1-2
    Without Parker - 1-3

Unless, of course, you want to argue Elson as the second best player on the team.

I thought in the last five games without Manu, the team went 3-2...Manu did miss five games...Or are you also counting the game where he re-injured his finger and only played for like one minute in the Clippers game...Okay, that would probably make it 4-2...

I agree I don't think numbers can tell the whole story...But it's obvious that in the last few days, the Spurs have been looking pretty badly...for whatever reason that is. And a huge part due to Manu not playing...After all, for a time, he was the leading scorer on the team, now the second leading scorer...

I just think out of the Big Four, each one is as important...I think TD is the leader and will always be the leader of the team...but you also need Manu, Tony, and Bruce...

For me, it's the whole team aspect...

I thought in the last four games without Manu, the team went 2-2...Manu did miss four games...Or are you also counting the game where he re-injured his finger and only played for like one minute in the Clippers game...That would make it 3-2, not 4-2...
Yeah, I counted that game against the Clippers where Manu played about a minute. And I just re-looked and it's 4-2.

Tim is the MVP, but Spurs do not repeat without Manu. In fact, they might not make it past the second round of playoffs without him. He is a game-changer.

Whoops...my bad. I also originally forgot to add up today's win since it's so recent. So yup, counting the Clipper game, that would make it 4-2.

EDIT: LOL, you're fast...I was just re-editing my previous message once I realized I forgot to add today's game...

Yes, maybe Manu are not the most important. But please look at the opponents when we lost the game. Without Manu, we only won LAC、Chicago、Memphis&Knicks, none of them wins more than 40%. And we lost the game against Denver(who wins 62.5%,last time we won just twenty days ago)&Toronto(51.5%).

So Manu should get injured when we play better opponents.

Nop ... I have to chose one I'll go with TD

But in Many games is TP, Manu, Elson, Bruce (last night), Finley, etc...

The difference among league is that are a few teams like Spurs, Det, now Boston (3 boys ahead), but certainly only a Superstar can't carry an entire team to get a championship.
