i'm confused. i thought rondo started? so is it rondo-hamilton, allen-billups at the start? would allen be on parker, then? that'd be interesting. does pierce take ginobili, then? that's about even. sigh. wish they would've lost tonight.

He did start on billups but when he went to the bench those were the matchups.

I think it will be this,

    Rondo- Parker
    Pierce-Ginobili
    Allen-Bowen
    Garnett-Oberto
    Perkins-Duncan

seriously? you don't think duncan and garnett go head-to-head? thought that was their thing. that may make more sense, though, perkins seems like a load in the desanga diop vein that mucks up duncan for some reason, and kg ought to destroy oberto.

It keeps both out of foul trouble.

i'd put elson on garnett for his quickness. and why bother putting duncan on garnett when there is oberto, elson even horry and bonner to play him? garnett is not a primetime low post scorer anyway.

i just assumed that's how it happened. they both play pf most of the time at both ends of the floor.

Garnett is going to destroy Oberto. You need to match KG with length, not strength. He's just going to elevate over Oberto and shoot the little midrange turnaround, which he hits with very good consistency. Put Duncan on KG and Oberto on Perkins. Much better matchup defensively.

Rondo is a pretty good defensive PG, so Parker will have his work cut out for him. KG is a great defender, he's gonna make Duncan work hard. BUT, they have nobody to guard Manu. He's going to be the key threat, Ray Allen and Pierce are notoriously poor defenders. Manu will have a field day with them slashing in the lanes and creating havoc.

At the start of the game:

    Rondo on CB
    Ray on Rip
    Pierce on Tay

    Later on:
    Ray on CB
    Rondo/Tony Allen on Rip
    Pierce on Tay

The Pistons were leading when they took advantage of Rip's mismatch, but the offense started to stink it up in the fourth quarter.

Damn. You know, I really don't know what to make of the Celtics this season...though I'm impressed with their record, I'd like to see them play the top Western teams; Suns, Spurs, Mavs, Jazz, etc before I fully judge them. Also, I just can't tell if they can really win a championship or not with 3 guys and a bunch of inexperienced players. And their top 3 guys don't have much playoff experience either. All I can say is Kevin McHale is an idiot for trading away KG for what he got in return from Boston...

Actually they played the Jazz out in Salt Lake a week or so ago and beat them out there. They have not lost since losing to the Pistons a few weeks ago.

KG,Allen and Pierce have playoff experience and have been in the Conference Finals. House,Tony Allen also have playoff experience. Posey has a ring with the Heat. I think too much is made of thier allege lack of playoff experience. The only ones with no playoff experience are Rondo,Perkins and Davis.

    Boston could have been 32-0.

Orlando got a fluke lucky ass 2-pt. win vs. Boston.
Cleveland got a fake 5-pt. victory.
And Detroit beat them last time on a foul with under a second to go.
ya and they could have 2 more losses easily if not for

-fluke play on part of hte bonehead Bobcats that allowed the C's to get the ball back and have Ray Allen hit a game winning 3

-Ray Allen's last second 3 to win the game against the Raptors I believe early in the season

Anyone hear of the reports that Celtics players were showboating shouting "DETROIIT BASKETBALL" to the fans on their way out?

Classless, arrogant, and stupid are the Celtics. You have to win a championship before you declare yourself champions.

That was Posey. He did win a championship.

But the team he is on right now hasn't won squat. And he's not the only one who was showboating, Pierce & co. were doing it too. There is a level of arrogance coming from that team that will bite them in the ass.

    Detroit News:
I wish Paul Pierce would act like he's been here before. You know, the guy is a vet. He has been in the playoffs. Granted, he went through a lot of lean years, but the way he was popping and doing his best Ali impression walking off the court Saturday -- "We're the best team in the league" -- it came off as boorish, immature. It's January, Paul. Relax.

I know Boston is a good team right now, definitely top 3. But showboating the way they are after wins is just classless. Especially for a team that hasn't won a championship.

For a guy who scored like 5 points and doesn't do most of the time, Posey shouldn't be talking too much.

C'mon...it's not like anybody thought Pierce had any class to show. Proclaiming his team "best in the league" when they haven't even faced most of the elite teams is about what you'd expect.
