    Poor Brent!
I pray he gets better soon. It was so good having him back.

Still, I am confident the rest of the team will step it up in his absense.

Spurs should just trade him and Elson for another wing. Barry has an expiring contract as does Elson so they are very tradeable.
For who? Which team would want them and what player would they give back?

Sucks for Barry and the Spurs. Barry finally plays how the Spurs wanted him to play when they signed him ... and now he's struggling with injuries.

If this is an injury that might jeopardize the rest of his season, the Spurs might look at using his expiring contract at the trade deadline. It's a nice sized contract and they might be able to use it if they want to make a trade.

I'd like a healthy Barry but if he's going to be gimpy for the rest of the year, it might be time to start looking around. Harsh but the Spurs are in the business of winning championships.

    Agreed.

Might want to see if Chicago wants expiring contracts and see if you could swing a Mahinmi, Elson, Barry for Nocioni trade.

I've had a torn calf muscle. It isn't too painful, but I've never had to play bball on it.
I was on crutches for about a week. The pain went away after about 2 weeks.
I'd say he's out till early March. We could have really used his leadership during RRT, but I'm sure he will do what he can to get back as soon as possible.
To be on the safe side, I wouldn't mind giving him 6 weeks as some have suggested.

Maybe Barry surrendered the baseline on that play that Pop took him out and blaste him because he was hurting.

Raise your hand if you think Barry came back too soon.

Udoka will have a shot to move ahead of Barry in the rotation while Barry is out. He might be able to do that, which will then move Barry into a Steve Kerr-esque situational role.

If Udoka is able to move past Barry due to injury, it'd be a full circle for Barry because in his first year with the Spurs the only reason Barry beat out Devin Brown was because Brown got injured.

This doesn't sound like a season-ender, but he should be out for a while.

It'll be interesting to see what the Spurs do now. If they think Richardson is a future Spur, they'll have to sign him for the rest of the season and either play him or sign another swingman, which seems unlikely given the tax situation.

If they let Richardson go, there is always the possibility of bringing Langford or DerMarr back up from Austin. If they are looking for someone with size who can handle the ball, they might want to look at Devin Green from LA -- but if they are just looking for stopgaps, they might as well be Toros.

Dont think the Spurs want to sign a dleaguer for the remainder of the season; including Langford or Johnson. Also, I think that applies to Jeremy Richardson. Johnson as a spot up shooter may seem to fill Barry's role temporary. Plus, he knows the system. According to McHone, Langford is being groomed for that combo guard position but not quite ready yet.

They want the flexibility of having those 2 roster spots just for this reason-------------injuries and/or trade possibilities.

This reason bodes well for dleaguers just wanting 10-day call-ups.

Kind of depends on how much they like these guys and the value they put on the time they've put in developing them -- e.g., If Langford is in fact being being groomed to be a Spur, what happens if he is called up by another team?

I do agree that they would prefer to keep the spots open until the trade deadline. Cir stances might change that, however.
