"Having absolutely no distractions or responsibilities for a certain period of time will be great for him," Popovich said

No Eva for 20 days might do him good.

I don't care how mad you get at criticism or how petered out you get from Eva and all the celebrity nonsense, a bone spur on the heel is going to diminish your play until it is completely well.

If he's still fighting that ailment, he needs to get off it and not play until the inflammation goes away. It's too damn easy to bump that spur again and set the injury off again.

Well actually it sounds like Pop thinks he can.
Pop did not say he can handle it the way it is. He said he has to work his way through it by changing what he is doing.
keep him, so to speak, caged — make him do whatever we want him to do every second.
I also am perplexed by this idea that the players have no one around on the road. The Spurs always let family fly with the team and go to away games. Eva will surely be around, especially when she has no work to do with the strike.

If Parker is hurt, shouldn't he at least try to pass the ball more, rather than force the issue???
He has been shooting the ball less and less as the months have gone on. That's actually one of the major problem's with the offense because the Spurs have grown to rely on Parker getting 8-10 easy points per game. He hasn't been getting those easy points in the last six weeks or so.

The Spurs will turn it offensively around once Parker starts shooting more.

I would like to mention to all those people who harrassed me when I said that Tony acts a lot like Beno-- and they all told me it did not matter because Tony could handle it.
Uh yeah if Beno averaged 20 and 7 in a season where he struggled, he would have gotten the benefit of the doubt as well. But even at Parker's worst, his dedication to the game and dedication to getting better is a lot higher than Beno "I only play hard if I start" Udrih's was.

Plus, Parker is usually one of the main players struggling when the Spurs are slumping. That's how it goes every year. I think this is Pop's way of lighting a fire under Parker. He's not calling out his whole lifestyle and trying to get him to divorce or whatever you are trying to trump this into

Hopefully he won't make the All-Star game, he really really needs the rest. Same with Ginobili.

I think Pop made a great call:

    DISTRACTIONS

    after years of SOFT TEAM

I'm sure he pressed on the right button.

I don't know why but this makes me see the Spurs'Future greener...

Whatever happens during the RRT I feel the FORCE coming in.

    to POP

Pop might have pressed the right button but do not know if he gave right thoughts into it. This button does have one control box anymore. Do not know how the response would be..

He's not calling out his whole lifestyle...
I think he is- and it is not just about Eva. Pop mentions having friends in town, not resting, etc... Tony thinks he can do more things at the same time than he actually can. Remember when Pop had to nix his rap debut at a local club during the season.
