This is odd. Usually the spurs doesn't lose these games. And if they do, it is a bad case of two of the big three sucking big time. With Manu and Tim playing well and still losing against one of the worst teams, it's not just a bad bench. It's something else.

^It definitely wasn't boredom or them playing down to the level of their opponents. Spurs are coming off 2 of their worst losses of the season, that alone was motivation for them. Duncan/Ginobili everyone seemed to be trying. This team seems to have problems a little deeper than that...mainly chemistry issues and communication affecting them on both ends. It doesn't help that guys like Finley, Horry, and Vaughn are clearly on their last legs and should not be counted on as significant role players at this point in their careers.

I for one, really really miss D-Wash. He created havoc every time he was on the court. He was a better backup PG than JV, FO made two big wrong calls this year, one was Scola, the other D-Wash. This is their fault.

fans of other teams see this from the spurs all the time.

its very frustrating for us. they don't seem to gel until its serious.

Thanks for posting game thoughts. I always like reading them.

I don't know what is going on with Finley too...lately his offense and defense is all off...His mistakes have been really costly.

I also feel that Bruce should have played in the fouth quarter. He usually does. His defense was especially needed at that crucial time...

Oberto did have a solid game...I just wish he could have made that lay up. It was a perfect pass by Manu. I believe it would have won the game...

Tim was also really good in the game. Sometimes, the defense wasn't the best. Yet, he has been very consistent with his scoring in the last few games.

I think Manu was fantastic as well in this game. I just realized that he basically scored 29 pts back to back, in the Utah and the Sonic game. I also feel 40 minutes was way too much for him especially since it was a back to back game. However, in the fourth quarter, during the clutch time, with under a minute to go, he did score that really timely 3 pointer, took a lot of guts to do that considering the situation. It was a crazy shot to get the Spurs up 1 over the Sonics. I really thought they were going to win after it...

It would be really good to have TP back real soon. So it will be a week at least? And the MRI didn't find anything new right?

The Suns game should be interesting...yet, I don't know how the Spurs can beat the Suns right now...unless Manu and Tim score more than 30 pts each or get the other role players to really step up, which lately hasn't happened. Then again, Manu did basically beat the Mavs almost by himself, 37 pts...so who knows...

    Thanks, timvp.

It is frustrating to watch our Spurs struggle and to think that we go through this every year, but it always seems to be the "worst they have ever played" each time. I am trying to convince myself that we will win tomorrow night. I can see tomorrow's game as one of those games that could totally turn this season around for us. Without Parker, it is a tall order, but I fully expect a determined Spurs team to go out on the court tomorrow night. If we go out with anything less, we will be forced to watch another disappointing game.

I still believe and I refuse to look for the panic button yet. SPAM.

IIRC, in the past weeks, we have been in every game with the exception of the Hornet game and the game against the Pistons.

Call me a homer, but I think it's a good thing that the Spurs are playing so many close games. It will get them used to crunch time and hopefully, desensitize them to pressure situations.

Manu, especially, has been counted upon to come through in the clutch lately. His game winner against the Heat was unstoppable, imo. Of course, he has missed some. But I think the misses will only make his resolve stronger and the makes will only build up his confidence.

If it wasn't for some poor effort on the glass and some breakdowns on defense in the last few minutes, we would be right there for the top seed. Effort and defensive breakdowns are two things I know our Spurs can correct.
