while some may seem like lateral moves, every coach who has left (except for Burns) has received a fairly substantial pay raise.

for example, even wallerstedt, while he still will coach the LBs at AF, was also named associate head coach, a le which will make him their highest paid non-coordinator, and above what his salary at KSU was.

it's not good news and definitely cause for concern. but i have taken jobs where my le didn't change but i received more money by moving. i didn't consider it a lateral move.

Kansas State athletic director Tim Weiser is leaving the university to take a position at the Big 12 Conference, a source close to the situation confirmed Thursday.

Weiser, 49, came to K-State in July 2001. He previously had been at Colorado State. On Weiser’s watch, K-State saw its athletic budget grow from $27 million to $38 million in 2007-08.

His biggest hires in coaching were replacing football legend Bill Snyder with Ron Prince in 2005 and men’s basketball coach Jim Wooldridge with Bob Huggins in 2006 and more recently Frank Martin, who was promoted when Huggins left for West Virginia in April.
This might not be good news for Outstandingly Fabulously Great Head Coach Ron Prince

always an iffy prospect for any sitting coach whenever a new AD comes in. (how many coaches does UNL have leftover from the Byrne era? Football, Men's BBall, and Baseball have all turned over...)

what's with the 'outstanding fabulously great' comment?
