Keep dreaming.
Bonner is cabbage.
OH NOES the lakers!!
The Gasol trade still pisses me off, but I like our chances against them (assuming a healthy Spurs that turns it up in the playoffs as always).
Keep dreaming.

I think the problem for the Spurs throughout this entire season will continue to be offensive production. The defense has always been stellar but against good teams you HAVE to be able to put up points. You saw what DET did to you a few weeks ago. Will Parker and Barry be able to come back 100% and playing at their peak level? Nobody really knows at this point.
I know you weren't watching when everyone was healthy, but the offense isn't really a concern. If the Spurs aren't healthy, they aren't going to beat anyone anyway.
When everyone was healthy they started 17-3 and kicking ass and taking names.
There isn't any real integration needed except for backup PG Damon Stoudamire. I think it will be much EASIER to get him into the flow then it will be for Pau to learn the TRI and START.
true that. but he can be horrible to guard as well when he decides to show up. nevertheless, i'm pinning my hope on ime being able to handcuff him enough to be nonexistent.
To spark the bench?
hey! nobody's touching manu!
its safe to say Tony has gotten a little bit better since then.
You know Phyllis is planning to pack the paint against the Spurs like he always does. Especially now that he has two 7 footers that can block shots.
Spurs will have to hit their threes against the Lakers to win. The one advantage I see against the Lakers is Tim Duncan. Bynum and Gasol cannot check TD one on one, consistently. If the Lakers double team, the Spurs will get good looks like they always do. The reason the '04 Lakers were so tough was because Malone was handling TD by himself.
And if Brent Barry comes back healthy, I think he will kill LA like the way we hoped Hedo would in '04. I think Brent matches up very well, offensively, against the Lakers.
we've beaten gasol in the playoffs and we've beaten kobe in the playoff, so when we win it will be two birds with one stone really....
The 2008 playoffs... Big Shot's grand finale.

The way I see it......
SAS's offense is really generated from the penetration that Tony Parker is able to get. Without him probing the paint and drawing defenders toward him it is going to be very difficult for SAS to get shots for guys who cannot create for themselves (basically everyone besides TD and Manu). This is what we've been seeing ever since Parker went down with injury, poor offense from everyone outside of Duncan and Ginobli.
The key to the series is going to be Parker. How healthy will he be and how effective will his penetration be with two 7 footers roaming the paint? If he's not there 100% I don't see SAS making it out of the playoffs, no matter how great their defense is.
'Nuff said! Any questions ?![]()
If you are talking about halfcourt offense, imo, TD will be the one that creates the lanes for Parker and Ginobili when he passes out of double teams. Jackson usually packs the paint to eliminate penetration. It will be tough for TP and Manu to just take stuff off the dribble to the basket, consistently.
I think we can at least make life tough for Duncan by throwing a double team of two 7 footers at him. How has Duncan traditionally done against larger front courts?
