Maybe others have suffered worse, but for your two favorite teams to have 1)epic choke in the Finals, 2)epic meltdown against an 8 seed, 3)being owned by the ing Mannings, and 4)epic meltdown after going 18-0 and this all happens in 2 years time.....that's pretty ing tough. it's not just suffering because your team sucks, it's going through each playoff game with your nerves on edge and then getting the ultimate gut punch when they fail. sorry if nobody else thinks so but it's how i see it.

I'm not abandoning my teams but for me to put as much emotion & energy into them the way I do, it just is too hard for me to do it anymore. if that makes me a pussy then it i don't give a .

for what it's worth in an attempt to own up, the first 10 people to post a pic in this thread get their pic put in my sig until after next year's Super Bowl.

i may not post much more tho because i am seriously considering quitting watching sports altogether.

4 massive gut punches in 2 years from my 2 favorite teams is too much to take. i was pissed last night but right now i seriously have no interest in ever being this disappointed ever again in my life, much less for something as trivial as this. i just have no interest in watching anything Mavericks or Patriots related ever again. They'll still be my favorite teams, but it's just too much to take for me.

I have never seen the Celtics win a le. I was born after that era ended. I watched the Yanks OWN the Red Sox for years and years and YEARS! That was some serious heartbreaking in that series. I am sticking with my teams through thick and thin. I watched Green Bay kick our ass 12 years ago, I watched the Yanks slap the sox, and I watched the Celtics suffer through some really tough seasons. That is life in the sports world. You are going to have your highs and lows. It sucks to lose, but it happens for a reason. Now I got to see the Patriots do something I was hoping for a decade ago, I got to watch my sox get payback on the Yanks in the sweetest way and win the world series, and now my Celtics have a real solid crew. If you truly are a sports fan, you will not quit being a fan. The passion and addiction to the games will keep you a fan forever.

Yeah what Belichick did was classless. I know a few Pats fans here and they said that they'll never respect a Colts fan again because the fans at the RCA Dome booed the girl in the Pats jersey.

It's pretty much universal consensus that Belichick is an asshole and classless. Why should it be news when he does something to confirm it?

The Patriots all acted like Belichick this year. From the top down they all had the same personality. And honestly I believe that has everything to do with why everyone wanted them to fail in the end. You know if it was a coach like Tony Dungy or Joe Gibbs trying to go 19-0, most people would worship the ground they walked on during the pursuit. In that scenario, the only people who would hate them or root for them to fail would be division rivals and that's about it.

Another reason they were hated was how they kicked everyone when they were down at the beginning of the season. I came in here and said that wasn't right, and mono and others laughed me off saying that by throwing on 4th down and not kicking FGs, they were giving teams a chance to stop them. that. You could tell the whole season, the Patriots were lying through their teeth when they gave any team props. It was always "they're a good team, but now we have to get ready for next week."

Honestly, the Pats and Belichick got exactly what they deserved.

I'm also lol'ing that the two teams Madden won't let you run the score up on in the video game made the Super Bowl, and the Giants Madden powers are apparently stronger than the Patriots.
