Once again, Ashlee Simpson proves that nepotism is alive and well in the entertainment industry.
Kelly's microphone wasn't working and she was visibly shaken by that to go with nerves, once they changed out the mic.
Ashlee gradually got worse and worse and worse, tailspinning into the ground. I know recording studios use voice levelers for lots of pop stars (Hillary Duff, etc) and Ashlee demonstrated why there is a need - as flat as Ashlee was hitting some of her notes,

You don't even need to use voice levelers a lot of the time because as long as you sit there and sing it enough, you'll get a decent take sooner or later. It's also just easier to sing when it's the only thing your focused on.
Which is exactly why I don't do karaoke. Because I'd have to have been drinking and well, if you've ever played Cranium with me when I've been drinking, you'd know that focus isn't my strong point.

And speaking of bands, am I a total weirdo for popping a boner when the Show Band Of The Southwest stopped in the middle of Grandioso and yelled "BEAT THE OUTTA MICHIGAN!" during the Rose Bowl halftime?
They should've had Dirk Diggler sing at halftime!
I was thinking the same about how this isnt her target audience, why would they have her do such a show. Also, as far as her not being able to sing, she is what sells to teeny-boppers these days, not musical talent. This makes me sad because supremely great local bands such as Mingo Fishtrap will never make it big because their "sound" and musical talent is not "in." (yes I know that sounded like an ad, but I really like that band!)

I will have to admit that Ashley’s performance was nowhere near as good as Janet Jackson’s Super bowl performance....And quite honestly I also enjoyed Brittney Spears previous Super Bowl Performance....But to say that Ashley was awful in the Orange Bowl is very very harsh!
But I am a little bit confused now....Are you all telling me that I am supposed to watch these things with the sound turned ON?
