All of this love for the player of the big 3 who HAS NOT (yet) been a final's MVP.

Manu is playing the best ball of his career, IMO. If Parker comes back to form, and Tim is Tim. Forget about it.

Uh no, AI deserved to be there.

Brandon Roy over Manu did not.

I want to hear the reasoning for this...

Brandon Roy, during the first half of the season, led his team to a ridiculous streak of winning basketball. Manu did provide leadership for the Spurs, but he also got injured and didn't contribute to his team as much as Roy.

Blazers w/o roy = Lottery team / garbage
Spurs w/o Manu = 7th or 8th seed in west. About a 50 win team.

His value to the team means more than just stats.

There is an easy way to know if Manu is an allstar , ask Lebron, ask Kobe, ask Dirk. Ask Nash etc, dont ask the fans.

The AS balloting is a fan based beauty contest. Manu doesn't either start or play in a major market with lots of media coverage and exposure. Most don't know who he is outside of Spurs fans and the people who cover the NBA on a regular basis. His minutes dont stack up to other players and the PER is pretty irrelevant to most. Like I said - a fan based beauty contest and I really don't think Manu cares to appeal to that. I think his drive is for rings rather than ASG appearances. But I believe he deserves to be in the ASG. Minute for minute he is one of the best players in the league, especially at crunch time.

wrong. Manu singlehandedly won a number of games for us this season. W/out Manu we would be out of the playoffs in about 10th place!

Ginobili is averaging 20.1 points a game

Manu snags an impressive 5 a game from the guard position...

outside of the NBA’s point guards, he’s the 4th best assist guy in the league...

Ginobili is 22nd in the league in 3-point shooting...

Per 48, only 11 players get to the line more than Manu...
    The intangibles. Manu vs Bobcats

No they didn't, but someone implying an argument that a player deserves to be in the all star game more because they have multiple championship rings is faulty.
    Not when it's Manu Ginobili.

When you pull down 15 boards one night, then 2 nights later go JORDAN in the 4th quarter....You become an exception to the rule.

Hi all, I just signed in to leave some stuff, I think that this is the best way to prove to everyone that Manu is an all-star, but if you think about it, they have reason to do it (business). Here is an article that is pretty good about Manu. Cheers.

great article. It's amazing that an argument about Manu being at the ASG can be backed in numbers, when every Spurs fan knows numbers are the less important factor of his game.
I still can't believe Brandon Freaking Roy was in Oklahoma City and Manu wasn't.

Brandon Roy & Portland had a huge marketing campaign to get Roy to the All-Star game. The released an I-Roy!

Somehow, I just don't think an I-Manu is the Spurs style.

Let the other guys have their February showcase. Manu gets plenty of time under the national spotlight in May and June. The Finals are the real All-Star game.
