WTF?
Brent will go whereever he wants to.
What's the diference if the nameplate is still there?
If he has already decided to go to spurs the leauge has nothing to do with it. It's in fricking rules.

Or it could be we aren't as stupid as the mavs...
our players didnt open their mouths.... Really, since the trade has already been approved, there is nothing the NBA can do.
Mavs ed up because their team collective IQ matches my Shoe size and couldnt keep their players quiet.
Im not saying we are guaranteed to get Barry back, but that would definately be the difference if we did.

The Celtics are after Barry as well. As much as I want to see Barry back, I just don't know if he will wait 30 days with all the interest that there is in him.

NBA sources said last night that the Celtics are poised to make a move on Brent Barry if and when he clears waivers. It is the second time the C???s have tried to get the slim shooter who has decent ballhandling skills. The first time failed when Barry ended up in San Antonio, which traded him this week to Seattle in the Kurt Thomas deal. The Celts, who have two roster spots available, will only be able to offer the veteran minimum. That may be enough to get Barry, who had interest

A white guy who shoots - of course Boston will be all over him.
I'm suprised they didn't go after Jason kapono
You guys aren't seriously getting mad at McDonald for reporting facts?
I don't like the guy's writing style, but his job is to be an independent reporter, not a paid co-conspirator for the Spurs.
It reeks of collusion.
I can see where someone can say that, but theres lots of ways to explain it.
I don't see how McDonald as a reporter, can see this, and not report it.
He has no obligation.
You're not seriously telling me Ludden didn't stick to what was acceptable by the Spurs to report which was why he was fed information from time to time.
I'm sure Ludden let some things out from time to time that made the Spurs say "WTF"
Refresh my memory.
I'm not seriously worried about it. Do I think this article is gonna be any sort of deal-breaker? Of course not.
But at this point, the less said about Brent's interactions with San Antonio, the better.
Especially coming from the frickin' San Antonio media.![]()
He could write that Brent still practicing with the spurs and the calf injury was made up to lower the intrest of other teams.
*sight*
If Ludden did, then his journalistic integrity is questionable.
And anyway what does that have to do with what McDonald did? If he decides that he's going to report as he sees fit, and not as how the Spurs want him to, even if it means that they decide to limit his access, then I applaud his integrity. I sure hope for the sake of this country that the reporters who cover "important" news have the same scruples.
Yes I'm sure McDonald was thinking of the ethics of journalism that he must uphold when he saw Barry's locker. I can only wonder how he holds to what he knows is right when his job demands so much of him ethicaly. Sports Journalism, changing the world one breaking news story at a time.
STFU Blaze.
One minute, maybe less. He does have a line. Typical Brent with a know-it-all face as he was telling a kid he can't sign his trading card coz its not one of his sponsors.![]()

ROFL. When was the last time the Express-News had an independent thought that wasn't spoon fed by the Spurs?
Now isn't the time to start spreading wings.
If you want to applaud his integrity you'll probably be able to find him in the unemployment line.
Even if there was something up, and something prearranged, then firing the guy would make it even more obvious.
*shrug* I just guess I have higher expectations of the media.
EN != Post
If McDonald had half as much integrity as that sentence had commas, he's in good shape.
Whoa.![]()
I thought whottt would be the one taking the Barry news hard . . .
This would be this first flaw in your plan.![]()
True. This won't matter in the long run but now is the wrong time for McDonald to break out his investigative reporting hat. Where is this sleuthing when the Spurs are making a trade or Duncan is signing his extension? That's when McDonald needs to break a story. Not when the Spurs might be trying to cir vent a rule.
