I'm too scared to try those other Shiners; what if I don't like them? I'll just have a Bock, or better yet, Corona Light!!! Yum
corona= grossly overrated and over priced. much like heineken.
Blasphemer!
I completely agree. I've never liked Corona at all.
Well I'm a beer lightweight, so I find it quite tasty and refreshing!
it's ok in a can. much less chance of horrible skunkiness.
Corona is not good at all.
If you're going to have a Mexican beer, make it an Indio.
Indio is the best beer in Mexico.
You're probably right, but again, I am a beer lightweight. I would think if it suits your taste, and you hate Corona, then Indio is not the beer for me. Plus I'm just scared of trying new things.
Nooooo you had it right the first time.
wasn't sure if "she" was really a gal or not....
Here is a quick top 5 list by a friend of mine I'd like to pass on to you guys. Never had a bad recommendation from him.
Stone IPA. This beer single handedly made me a hophead. The floral hop aroma is nothing short of amazing, you'll never find another beer with this type of aroma, almost like a perfume. Good bitterness and hop flavor. Crisp mouthfeel, light/medium in body. A fantastic IPA for any season.
Bonus - This is what we toasted with at our wedding.
AleSmith IPA. One of the very best IPA's I've ever had. The hop taste is incredible, very similar to Stone's IPA due to the same heavy handed use of Centennial Hops, but more in your face. I like to think of this beer as a big boy Stone IPA. The two breweries are very tight with one another and their taste in IPA shows it. It lacks every so slightly the aroma of Stone but it makes up for it in taste. If only they could somehow mesh the two together it would be the perfect IPA.
Blue Mountain Brewery's Dark Hollow. This is a bourbon barrel stout from my neck of the woods, which by default makes me biased but judging on palette alone, this is above and beyond anything I could have expected in an Imperial Bourbon Barrel Stout. This thing tastes like someone added 4 shots of small batch bourbon to my impy stout. Big roasted malt flavors with hop bitterness to even the playing field, and then upon the finish, smack! More bourbon flavor than I have ever in my life tasted in a beer.
*Bonus - I've been there for brewing and bottling and tasted it right off the bright tank. Running the cork machine was awesome too.
AleSmith Speedway Stout. Huge stout at 12% abv, but the alcohol isn't as in your face as you may think. Brewed with Ryan Bros. coffee, this stout has a huge robust flavor. Huge roasted malt profile with an expresso finish. Enough hop here to bring a welcomed bitterness. With so many great Imperial Stouts out there, its hard to pick a favorite but this beer is worth every penny spent to get it out to me here in VA. Here's to hoping VA finally gets some AleSmith Distribution.
Three Floyds Alpha King. A Pale Ale done right. Heavy handedly hopped, enough malt to make the palette aware that this is a pale ale, but the hops never lose control. This is my all time favorite summer beer and one of the best breweries in the midwest. I wish I didn't have to mail order it but its worth it. I've never had a pale ale this damn good.
still would have applied![]()
Yes "she" is a girl!!! Why would you think other wise? mrsmaalox?
it is the interweb
yeah but who would want to do that with a girl that needs so much maalox they needed to name themselves after it....![]()
and I have tried some of those beers....dehydrating but good.

??????
I hadn't thought of it that way. Excellent take.
Stone IPA is one of my favorites. I look at everything else but always go back to it. Delicious stuff - there's usually a tall of it in my fridge if there's not a couple bottles from the 6-pack. I also like Bear Republic's Racer 5 IPA and their Hop Rod Rye, but they're harder to find, especially on tap. The Draught House here in Austin has all three.
Where do they sale the Speedway Stout here in SA?
I've never seen it
