The Rockets can win every single regular season game from here on out and I would still bet my life savings they don't make it out of the WC. Keep talking Rox fans you're in for a world of disappointment when the Rockets fail again in the playoffs.

Mutombo is not a focal point of the offense like Yao is. When Yao becomes a focal point of your offense the game SLOWS down. This is why you are playing so much better now because you have Mutombo who can make up for Yao's defensive impact and you aren't hindered by the slow offensive game that Yao creates.

holy crap that has to be the dumbest thing I have ever read. I was going to reply with a counter point but then I realized it was totally pointless. your post speaks for itself.

We are wasting too much breath on these Rockets because every single fan here, including Rocket fans, know their team will never win a ring as long as T-Mac and Yao are the leaders.

So the Rocket fans are coming out of the woodwork it seems these days now that they have a team worth talking about. Funny how you were nowhere to be found when the Rockettes were 20-24. Now it would be OK if you all kept your mouths shut and were humble about your recent success, but oh no you have to go onto every team's msg board and shout from the rafters about how great you are.

It ends today. Your silly little streak will finally be over and you will fizzle and flame out the month of March just like the little JailBlazers did earlier in the year. I don't even care that the Lakers are undermanned, with no legitimate center playing, if we lose there are no excuses to be made. Your team is nothing, your streak means nothing, and when we win today we can finally stop hearing about your pathetic little team that everyone knows ain't going nowhere in the post season.

You are without a doubt the LEAST classy fan in sports. I guess you model yourself after Kobe and Phil.

I like your optimism but cmon there is no way the Rockets are going to beat a Laker squad that has fully gelled consisting of Bynum, Gasol, Bryant, Odom, and Fisher. Your team leaders have never made it out of the 1st round, while ours have won 3 rings together. Your head coach has a grand total of 0 rings, while ours has 9. We have the advantage at damn near every single position.
    LMAO. Is this guy serious?

First of all, love the "gel" cliche. All every team need is time to "gel".

Second, how confident are you that Odom will be on the team next year? The Lakers will be over the luxury tax without Vujacic, Turiaf and only 10 players on the squad. Either the Lakers aren't going to be very deep or they're going to have to trade Odom's contract.

They might keep him on one more year, but he's probably not in their longtime future. Especially considering Bynum is going to demand a max offer.

Lastly, you say "your team leaders have never made it out of the first round while ours have won three rings together".

Gasol, Odom, Kobe and Bynum have won three rings together? In which parallel dimension did THIS happen?

Last time I checked, Shaq was the biggest reason the Lakers won three rings, and he plays for Phoenix now. Can Phoenix say that their team leaders have won three rings together?

^^The way your team is winning games will not translate into playoff success. Being so reliant on the 3pt shot is going to kill you when the shots don't fall.

And the Lakers inability to guard any of those 3pt shots effectively WILL cost them in the playoffs as well where as you know, it only takes one defensive lapse and 1 drained 3 to make all the difference.

You guys all out sucked today, beat by a well-coached team with one star(Yao is out) and hard-nosed role players.

Fakers did not just get beat, they got embarrassed.

The difference is you WONT be getting back Yao this season so it makes no sense to talk about him. The Lakers OTOH will be getting back Bynum, Ariza, and Gasol. In other words, if you meet us in the post season your ed.
And the above is why everyone hopes the Lakers are completely healthy come playoff time, because even amidst smack talk, the Lakers fans make sure to bring up injuries just in case they lose.

^If we were just missing one player I wouldn't say anything. But Gasol+Bynum is too much to overcome.

How many games would you win minus Duncan+Ginobli/Parker? You can't even beat the ing 76ers with all of them healthy.

No team is the same without any of their key players injured.

That's what's been so impressive about the Rockets win streak. Also, realize that after Yao has been hurt, Carl Landry missed 5 or 6 games as well depleting their front court as much as any team that can complain about injuries.

The Rockets SHOT extremely well today, even with all our pieces it would have been a close game. We could not take advantage of their weak interior defense and were forced into taking dumb contested perimeter shots. This was a matchup where our bigs would thrive.

I guess you haven't been reading your own posts where you've talked about how good the Lakers would be if Bynum weren't out. But since you mentioned Ariza in half of them () it technically doesn't count as only one.

But since you initiated the talking with this thread only to complain about how shorthanded you were after losing to a team that beat you without the starting all star center...

Yeah, matchups against teams with injured starting centers are like that.
