possibly. although Walker is capable of being better than anybody else USC has. pullen has had some big games this year as well.

it's just a question of if they come to play or if they decide to lay yet another egg.

k-state can play well and still lose...its not just about laying an egg. SC is a damn good team.

SC is a good team. not a great team. KSU has a higher ceiling, but is less consistent in reaching that top level as well.

I'm a Spartan fan so not complaining, but was surprised to see MSU as the 2nd highest Big Ten seed after finishing 4th in the conference. I know they destroyed Indiana last meeting, but they struggled on the road this year, don't think they'll do too well in the tourney.

I think both teams are very comperable. SC finished 4th in the 2nd or 3rd best league, KSU finished 3rd in the 2nd or 3rd best league, both lost a game they shouldn't have, both rely on a super frosh and if he isn't on the team isn't on. Both have very high SOS. Some of KSU's early losses that looked really bad ended up being all to tourney teams (Xavier, ND, Ore, Geo Mason). The biggest knock on KSU as far as seeding is that they were upset in their tourney and they have no road wins of note except an early Jan win in snorman. They lost every other B12 road game except CU and ISU. Most often road games were single digit losses. They played horrid late (3-6 last 9). SC conversely played well of late (6-2 last 8). Almost every loss was to a tourney team. Beat UCLA away while KSU beat KU at home. So, all in all pretty close.

On diff is, altho SC does have some nice road wins, they also got pasted on the road quite a few times (10 @ Cal, 11 @ Zona, 24 @ Wazzu, 11 @ AzSt).

It is the battle of the hype vs the hoopla. Mayo was the #1 freshman with tons of hype but beasley has garnered WAY more hoopla (and results).

    Beasley
    Walker
    Pullen
    Stewart
    Young

thats better than any 5 you can give from USC. Kstate is going to take this one.

actually, 1-5, i think USC is better. they just don't have an answer for Beasley or Walker (if he decides to show up). the Cats were as good as anybody in the country this season when both of those players played well - and that's not hyperbole. however, it wasn't often either (hence my 'ceiling' comment).

Walker is just a dumbass sometimes and will pull up for some long three when he is already 1-11 in the game. Beasley will get his numbers..around 25 and 13...the x-factor lies in Walker and im intrested to see how some of the wildcats freshman step up like Sutton, Young, ect.
