Do you think Bruce has a good chance of getting it this year? This year, it doesn't seem like anyone is really sticking out as a DPOY. Camby plays for a team which opponents feel they can score at will upon. Ben Wallace....is done. Maybe someone from Boston, but I think Bruce has a good shot this year.

My fault I did not look at the box score to realize.
I hope you are just kiddin' us for april fool day. If it's not the case your are losing credibility. You bash a player based on highlights??
Even worse, the stats are what may convice you about the value of Bruce Bowen??
You are calling out people for saying crap when in fact you didn't watch the game?
Are you out for troll status??

What's with all this 'Bowen shut down TMac' crap?

I watched the game. He got burned 309490385 times and put on a poster twice.

I know BB is great and stuff but why reference the Rockets game..
Those dunks are partly the fault of the help defense. Bowen can't always keep a guy like TMac from getting past him. It's going to happen. But the help defense needs to be there as a second line of defense.

Two dunks? So what. Only 5-22 is a lot more important.

Bruce will probably never get the award which he richly deserves - I guess the voters are just a little "desensitized" by his style of play.

I don't dought that the coachs might have some say in the all NBA and defensive teams, but the media are still 128 voters to the NBA coaches 30 voters.
    Again, read:

The voting panel consisted of the NBA’s 30 head coaches, who were asked to select NBA All-Defensive First and Second Teams by position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players from their own team. Two points were awarded for a First Team vote and one point was awarded for a Second Team vote.
What part of that paragraph don't you understand? The form you saw was for defensive player of the year.

I actually know several media voters. In the past 10 years I have seen the actual forms the media fill out while I don't dought that the coachs might have some say in the all NBA and defensive teams, but the media are still 128 voters to the NBA coaches 30 voters. If I am not mistaken Bill Schoening and Sean E. are media voters, next time you're in press row you can ask one of them. I also believe there is a member of the express news who has a media vote, but I am unsure of who that is if there is such a person.
I don't know what you aren't understanding. The media votes for MVP, DPOY etc. The coaches vote for Defensive Teams, which my point of my original post in this thread. (I think they both might vote for All NBA teams - I don't know, I didn't look it up). Here's last year's Defensive Team voting ...

The voting panel consisted of the NBA’s 30 head coaches, who were asked to select NBA All-Defensive First and Second Teams by position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players from their own team. Two points were awarded for a First Team vote and one point was awarded for a Second Team vote.

    Guard Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers 14 4 32
    Guard Raja Bell, Phoenix 7 11 25

2006-07 NBA ALL-DEFENSIVE SECOND TEAM Position Player, Team 1st 2nd Points

Guard Jason Kidd, New Jersey 8 7 23
    Forward Tayshaun Prince, Detroit 7 7 21
    Forward Kevin Garnett, Minnesota 8 4 20
